Ben Lerner Biography and Career:

Ben Lerner is a writer, poet, and critic who was born in the United States. The Lichtenberg Figures, a cycle of fifty-two sonnets he wrote, was recognized with the Hayden Carruth Award. It was deemed one of the year’s top twelve collections of poetry by the Library Journal in the year 2004.

In 2010, a German version of The Lichtenberg Figures was published. In 2011, it was awarded the “Preis der Stadt Münster für Internationale Poesie,” making Lerner the first American to be given this prize.

Lerner was born and raised in Topeka, which is prominently in each of his collections of poetry. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1997, where he excelled in both debate and forensics, and Topeka features prominently in each of his collections of poetry.

It has come to my attention that my work is lacking in the story department.
