Instead of pursuing a career in acting, he went to Cambridge University, where he studied natural sciences and received his degree in 1947. He then went on to work as a scientist. The next year, he enlisted in the Royal Navy to fulfil his obligatory military service of two years. He never once mentioned having an interest in the performing arts. In 1952, he started working for BBC Television at Alexandra Palace, and then, in 1954, he was the one who introduced the innovative programme “Zoo Quest.”

When he wasn’t hosting “Zoo Quest,” he aired religious and gardening programmes, as well as political broadcasts, archaeological quizzes, short story presentations, and gardening shows. In addition, he hosted gardening shows. Michael Peacock was appointed to the position of Controller of the newly established BBC2 in 1964, the year that saw the debut of the United Kingdom’s third television channel. A year later, Peacock was offered a post on BBC1, and Attenborough was given the job of Controller of BBC2 respectively.

As a direct consequence of this, he was the primary impetus behind the introduction of colour television in Britain and the dissemination of Monty Python’s Flying Circus (1969) around the rest of the world. In 1969, he was given the job of Director of Programmes at the BBC, which gave him editorial control over both of the organization’s television networks. This position was a promotion from the previous year’s position of Director of Programmes. Eight years of slaving away at a desk proved to be too much for him, and in 1973 he submitted his resignation so that he could return back to building software instead of working at a desk.

After the popularity of the natural history series “Eastwards with Attenborough,” which was produced in South East Asia, the documentary “The Tribal Eye” was released in 1975. This film concentrated on the art of indigenous peoples and was filmed in South America. In 1979, he was the one who was responsible for scripting and presenting all thirteen episodes of Life on Earth (then the most ambitious series ever produced by the BBC Natural History Unit). This was the first instalment in a trilogy that would later include The Living Planet (1984) and The Trials of Life. This marked the beginning of the trilogy (1990).

In 1985, in acknowledgement of the significant contributions he had made to the television industry, he was awarded the title of Sir David Attenborough and given a knighthood. The two shorter series, “The First Eden” and “Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives,” were designed to fit around the spectacular Life in the Freezer (1993), which was a celebration of Antarctica, and 1995’s epic The Private Life of Plants (1995), which he wrote and presented. Both of these series were produced by the same individual.

Both of these television series was conceived by and developed by him. In 1996, when filming the wonderful birds of paradise for the documentary Attenborough in Paradise, he had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the bird of paradise, which had been a longtime goal of his. This dream came true for him. In 1995, while he was entering his seventies, he narrated the David Attenborough Wildlife Specials, which honoured the 40th anniversary of the BBC Natural History Unit and were nominated for awards.

However, he did not slack off, as he finished the epic 10-part series for the BBC entitled “The Life of Birds” (1998), in addition to creating and presenting the three-part series entitled “State of the Planet (2000),” and “The Life of Mammals.” Both of these series were broadcast in 1998. (2002). After the performance had been broadcast, he wasted no time in getting started on the preparations for his upcoming endeavours.
