On January 20, 1995, Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott was born in the area of East Flatbush in Brooklyn, New York City. East Flatbush is located in New York City. His mother hails from the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean, while his father was born and raised in Jamaica. Joey was the first member of his family to be born in the country that is now known as the United States of America.

At a young age, Joey had an early interest in the English language and literature, and at the age of eleven, he began penning poems and songs of his own. Because he had a lifelong dream of working in the entertainment industry, he decided to enroll at Edward R. Murrow High School, which was known for its supportive environment for aspiring performers.

To increase his chances of being discovered as an actor, he participated in a large number of school plays. Joey had a significant part in one of the school plays he was in, which was given the title “John Cusack Is Not a Famous Actor.”

By the time he was 15, he was quite certain that he wanted to make a career out of acting. But the hand of fate had other things in store for him. When he came up to a group of rappers who were performing their abilities at his school, he requested if he could join them since he was fascinated by the artistry that they were displaying.

Soon after that, he discovered that he was associating with a group of rappers. His concentration switched from acting to music as a result of this. However, acting was something that was always on his mind, and the only way he could see himself breaking into the acting world was via music.

The concept of organizing a rap collective was first proposed by Capital Steez, one of the members of their group. They came together to start a rap group and they decided to call it “Pro Era,” which is an abbreviation for “Professional Era.” Joey, along with another rapper named Powers Pleasant, was one of the individuals that first established the collective.

He began his career as a rapper under the alias JayOhVee, but he eventually switched to using his own name as his stage name. The rap trio known as “Pro Era” quickly produced a video that showcased the group’s rhyming abilities and uploaded it on YouTube.

The video became viral on the internet in a matter of moments, and it was finally brought to the notice of Jonny Shipes, who was the creator of Cinematic Music Group.

Jonny then contacted Joey and requested that he write raps and songs for him to distribute under his label. Joey agreed to do this. Joey gave his assent to his proposition, but he asked him to also sign all of the other members of the ‘Pro Era.’ Jonny gave his consent, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Additionally, Joey began to lend his ears to a large number of modern rap artists and began to adapt some of the tactics that these musicians used into his music. Joey currently has Jonny Shipes serving as his manager.

In 2012, Joey had his first collaboration with Capital Steez, the creator of the group known as “Pro Era.” Together, they created a music video for a song named “Survival Tactics” and uploaded it to the official YouTube channel group.

The recording was made at Relentless Records, and RED Distribution was responsible for the tape’s distribution after it was produced by Cinematic Music Group and recorded there. The first studio album released by the hip-hop ensemble Styles of Beyond was titled “2000 Fold,” which served as a source of inspiration for the song “Survival Tactics.”

Joey released his first work as an independent musician, a mixtape titled “1999,” in July of 2012. This marked the beginning of his career. The mixtape shot to fame almost immediately and was quickly included on Complex magazine’s list of the “top 40 albums of the year” shortly after its release.

Joey has come out with a new mixtape, on which he has added the songs that are still missing from the album. On September 6, 2012, it was made available to the public under the name “Rejex.”

The fact that he constantly tried new things musically and combined elements from a wide variety of genres contributed to the meteoric rise to fame that he experienced almost immediately. In spite of the fact that it was a risky move, it ended up being a successful formula for creating wonderful music.

In 2013, Joey released his second mixtape, which he titled “Summer Knights.” This was a significant turning point in his career. One of the songs on the cassette, titled “Unorthodox,” was already a smash when it was released as a single earlier in the same year.

It was originally planned that “Summer Knights” would be released as an extended play; but, for unknown reasons, it was published as a mixtape instead. On October 29, 2013, Joey did release the extended play version of his song.

The extended play album peaked at number 48 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list that was compiled by Billboard in the United States. In 2013, Joey was recognized by the BET Awards as one of their “Best New Artists,” for which he received his first nomination.

In 2014, Joey was finally given the opportunity to pursue his ambition of becoming an actor when he was cast in a short film named “No Regrets.” The plot of the movie was only tangentially based on his actual life events. He released the first single from his next album, titled “Big Dusty,” in the month of August.

On August 12, 2014, the full-length studio album was made available for purchase. At the beginning of the year 2015, he appeared as a guest on the popular talk program known as “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

There, he delivered a live performance. After that, he went on to perform with several prominent hip-hop musicians, including BJ the Chicago Kid, The Roots, and Statik Selektah, among others.

On the same day that he turned 20 years old, he unveiled his newest album, titled “B4.DA.$$,” which was published on January 20, 2017. The album takes its name from the phrase “Before the Money,” which also serves as the album’s tagline.

The suspenseful television series ‘Mr. Robot’ was where Joey made his first appearance on television. He portrayed the part of Leon, the protagonist’s close buddy and best friend in the show.

Because of this series, Joey was given the opportunity to portray Barack Obama in a biography, but he had to decline the role. The next day, March 4, 2016, Joey issued the first single off his then-upcoming album, titled “All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.” The song was titled “Devastated,” and it was released digitally.
