PnB Rock Biography and Career:

Rakim Hasheem Allen, better known by his stage name PnB Rock, is an American rapper and vocalist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on December 9, 1991. [3] His 2015 track “Fleek” and 2016 single “Selfish,” both of which peaked at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, are his most well-known songs. He has two studio albums: TrapStar Turnt PopStar (2016) and Catch These Vibes (2017). (2019). Allen was chosen to be a member of the 2017 XXL Freshman Class. PnB Rock, real name Rakim Hasheem Allen, was born on December 9, 1991, in the Germantown neighbourhood of Philadelphia. Rock’s family suffered with poverty as he and his four siblings were growing up. With four kids, it was extremely difficult for the family to sustain their way of life.



His father engaged in illegal activities to support his family; as a result, he was murdered in a gang war in 1994. His mother was responsible for taking care of the entire underprivileged family. Rock spent most of his early years in shelters, where she often checked her children in.
Rock started going to school and is succeeding. He was a very popular young man in addition to having great academics. Many students were following him. Because of his popularity, he obtained poor grades, which also contributed to his expulsion from the school.

 

When Rock’s uncle, who was caring for the family, died in a gang battle at the time, his life was turned completely upside down. He started off doing small-time crimes and peddling drugs. He was accused with robberies and drug sales at the age of nineteen and received a sentence of three years in prison.

Due to personal hardships, Rock started writing songs when he was incarcerated. He was resolved to start over once he was let out of prison. As soon as he was let out of jail, he started posting videos on Instagram with the hashtag #tbh, which has become a worldwide phenomenon and allows users to sing about other people’s pictures. He decided to start recording his own music because his popularity was rising at this point.

Early in 2014, Rock collaborated with a neighbouring music enthusiast to write the song “Weekend Baby.” The song mostly focused on chaotic sounds rather than the melody or the lyrics. The song, though, became a tremendous smash in the Philadelphia club scene and gave Rock faith in his musical talent.Following the success of the track locally, Rock started work on his debut mixtape, which was based on the poetry and song lyrics he wrote while he was incarcerated. The mixtape, titled Real Ngga Bangaz, was made available in June 2014 and received favourable reviews.

This assisted him in catching the interest of renowned record labels, such as Atlantic Records. Rock enthusiastically accepted their offer after they located him and offered him a proposition. He collaborated with Atlantic on a mixtape titled “RnB3,” which was released in 2015. His third mixtape was released at a period when he was well-known in the “Gangsta Rap” scene.

He managed to distinguish himself as one of the very few new musicians that bucked convention with his authentic combination of rap and R&B songs. His music was treated with love and respect.In June2016, Rock released the single “Selfish.” The song soon became a hit after making its US Billboard Hot 100 debut at position 51. This was his first attempt at becoming well-known, and in October 2016 the publication “Rolling Stone” recognised him. He was one of the magazine’s “10 New Artists You Need to Know.”

Together, Rock and Fetty Wap produced the mixtape “Money, Hoes & Flows.” Kodak Black and Kevin Hart were two musicians with whom Rock collaborated.Atlantic Records and Empire Distribution released his album “GTTM: Going Thru the Motions” in 2017. Mixtape reports referred to it instead, despite the fact that it was first marketed as his debut studio album. The album sold over a million copies in the first week of release, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard 200.
