Richard Mofe-Damijo Biography and Career:

Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo, better known by his stage name RMD, is a well-known Nigerian actor, writer, producer, attorney, and former journalist. He was born on July 6, 1961. In 2009, he also served as Delta State’s Commissioner for Culture and Tourism. He has extensive experience in the field. He took up the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” trophy at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2005. At the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifetime of work.

In the Delta State hamlet of Aladja, which is part of the Udu Kingdom, Mofe-Damijo was born. He received his education at Midwest College, Warri, and Anglican Grammar School, where he also participated in the school’s drama program. He enrolled in the University of Benin to further his education and focused his studies on the Theater Arts.
