Scott Galloway Biography and Career:

Scott Galloway is a public speaker, author, and presenter of podcasts and entrepreneurs. He was born on November 3, 1964, and now teaches marketing at the Stern School of Business at New York University. He spent his childhood in the city of Los Angeles, California. His father came to the United States from Scotland, where he worked as a sales executive after resettling there. His Jewish mother worked as a secretary when she immigrated to the United States from London, England.

Galloway received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1987. He then continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, and received his Master of Business Administration degree in 1992. In 1992, he established Prophet, a brand and marketing consultation company. In 1997, Galloway established Red Envelope, one of the original websites dedicated to online shopping. In 2005, Galloway established L2 Inc., which specializes in digital intelligence.

Which was purchased by Gartner for $155 million in March of 2017, and the now-defunct Firebrand Partners, an activist hedge fund created in 2005 and invested over one billion dollars in U.S. consumer and media firms. In the year 2019, Galloway launched the educational technology firm known as Section 4. In 2021, he successfully raised $30 million for the Series A round, bringing the total capital to $37 million. He was selected as a “Global Leader of Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum, which honors 100 young people under 40 whose achievements have affected worldwide.

He has previously been a member of the board of directors for Eddie Bauer, The New York Times Company, Gateway Computer, Urban Outfitters, and the Haas School of Business at Berkeley.
