Lita, whose real name is Amy Dumas, is a semi-retired professional wrestler who has won the WWE Women’s Wrestling Championship four times. The moment she saw Rey Mysterio Jr. compete on an episode of World Championship Wrestling was the moment that piqued her interest in the sport of wrestling. She began her career on the independent circuit, and she worked on the same circuit for a short time.
After that, she became a member of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), which she did for some time until ultimately getting a developmental agreement with WWE. She allied herself with Trish Stratus around the middle of 2001 in order to compete against Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson. In the first-ever tag team bra and panties contest, which took place on July 22, 2001, Amy Dumas and Stratus successfully overcame Keibler and Wilson by stripping their opponents nude in order to win the match.
Later, they formed an alliance with Jacqueline and engaged in a six-pack challenge with Keibler, Wilson, Ivory, and Mighty Molly as their opponents. Her comeback to WWF television occurred in February of 2002, and she immediately continued her efforts to obtain a WWF Women Championship title. At WrestleMania X8, which took place in March, she made her ring debut against Stratus, who was followed by defending champion Jazz, who pinned her down. Following a serious accident that resulted in three breaks in Amy Dumas’ spine, her pursuit of the Championship title was once again derailed, but this time it was for the worse.
She had surgery and then spent the rest of the year recovering and sometimes offering her commentary once she was released from the hospital. In September 2003, on an episode of Raw, she made her comeback to the ring after an absence of seventeen months. After waiting another year, she entered the competition in the women’s category.
