Ardal O’Hanlon Biography and Career:

Ardal O’Hanlon is an Irish comedian, actor, and author. He was born on October 8, 1965, in Ireland. He portrayed Father Dougal McGuire in the television series Father Ted from 1995 to 1998, George Sunday/Thermoman in the television series My Hero from 2000 to 2005, and Detective Inspector Jack Mooney in the television series Death in Paradise (2017–2020). In 1998, his work The Talk of the Town was made available to readers.


O’Hanlon was born on October 8, 1965, in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan. His parents, Rory O’Hanlon, a Fianna Fáil TD and physician, and Teresa (née Ward) were married at the time of his birth.

The show aired for two seasons, the first in the summer of 1999 and the second in the winter of 2001. In addition, he had a small part in the movie The Butcher Boy, in which he portrayed the father of Joe, who was Francie’s closest friend. In the comedy series My Hero, which he appeared in during the year 2000, O’Hanlon took the role of a very ignorant superhero hailing from the planet Ultron.
