Aubrey O’Day Biography and Career:

Avery Morgan, Aubrey O’Day is an American singer-songwriter, a member of the duet Dumblonde, a reality television personality, and a former member of the girl group Danity Kane. She was born on February 11, 1984, in the United States.

O’Day was kicked out of Danity Kane in 2008 due to disagreements with the other members of the group and with P. Diddy, who served as her mentor at the time. She later reconciled with the other members in 2013 before the group disbanded for a second time.

O’Day has posed for publications including Blender and Playboy, and she has also appeared in the Broadway production of Hairspray. She released her first extended play (EP), titled Between Two Evils, in the year 2013, after signing a solo record contract with SRC/Universal Motown Records in 2011. Alongside her former bandmate from Danity Kane, Shannon Bex, O’Day launched the electropop duet known as Dumblonde in the year 2015.

In addition, O’Day has participated in other reality television competitions, such as the fifth season of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice, Famously Single on the E! Network, and most recently, she competed in and finished fifth in the 18th season of Celebrity Big Brother. O’Day made her stage debut when she was just five years old. She said in an interview, “I lived on the stage, and even at the age of six, I slept behind the seats of the theatre.”

O’Day’s mother claims that when O’Day was only four years old, she was in the audience at a performance of The Nutcracker and began to weep. Her mother inquired as to what was wrong, and O’Day said, “I’m unhappy because I’m not up on stage right now.” O’Day remembers that particular instance as the one in which she “officially” became aware of her passion for the entertainment industry.

Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz,” Carmen from “Fame,” Sandy from “Grease,” Liesl from “The Sound of Music,” Tzeitel from “Fiddler on the Roof,” and Mimi from “Rent” are just some of the major roles that O’Day has done in numerous musical productions. In addition, she had a role in Annie. O’Day’s upbringing was marked more by appearances at casting calls and acting engagements than by time spent in school. As a young girl, she looked up to Sean “Puffy” Combs and The Notorious B.I.G. as her major sources of inspiration.

O’Day was first brought to the public’s attention in 2004 via the MTV reality program Making the Band 3, which was created by Sean “Diddy” Combs. O’Day went on to become the show’s most successful participant. Blender magazine reached out to O’Day during Season 2 of Making the Band 3 to pose for their September 2005 edition while the competition was still going on. This took place while the season was still in progress.

She was the contender “who bared calm determination and tanned hip bones in beating out over 10,000 females for the shot of singing and strutting in a P. Diddy–steered girl group,” according to the publication. O’Day said that he was worried about the competition to join the group. She said, “I’ve been in the ‘cut’ position multiple times,” and she was referring to a specific incident. “It’s difficult to stand in a room and be aware that the fantasy I desire is entirely in [Combs’s] control,” she said. O’Day had to leave college in order to compete in the event; hence, he did not graduate.

Combs was certain that O’Day had “Black in her family” after witnessing her dance and further voiced this feeling after seeing her perform a rendition of “At Last” at a club during Season 1 of the program. Both of these experiences occurred while the show was being filmed. This, in addition to what many viewers saw as a natural charm, helped endear her to the judges and fans, making her a favorite among them consistently.

Johnny Wright, who was a manager for the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync in the past and acted as one of the judges on the program, remarked that they knew from her very first audition in Los Angeles that she was “a star.” O’Day told everyone about the challenge, and he described it as “intense.” There are a lot of people who say things like, “I love to be in the limelight,” including myself. O’Day’s answer when he was informed that Combs wanted the kind of stars that were already starred by the time they were 2 years old was as follows: “When I was two years old, my name was Aubrey. From the outset, she was a diva.”

O’Day was ultimately selected to become a member of the group and was the first member to be included. After changing their name, the band is now known as Danity Kane, and on August 22, 2006, their first album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 rankings. The band served as Christina Aguilera’s opening act during the United States portion of her Back to Basics Tour, which she was co-headlining with the Pussycat Dolls.

MTV News surveyed the audience to find out how they felt about the firings of O’Day and Woods. On the MTV News website, followers expressed their dissatisfaction with the band’s decision to disband in a manner that was vehement, lengthy, and specific. The season of Making the Band that aired in 2009 was supposed to feature new band members trying out for the role of “replacements” for O’Day and Woods in Danity Kane, but it actually revealed the band’s formal dissolution instead.

At first, it was believed that O’Day and Woods, along with group member Shannon Bex, had been responsible for the entire dissolution of the group since they had declined the invitation to return to both the series and the group. This was then refuted by O’Day, who indicated that although she was unclear whether Woods was invited back, she herself was not requested to return. O’Day maintained that while she was unsure if Woods was asked back, she was not asked back.

O’Day said that if the opportunity had been presented, she would have returned and that she does not have a bias against doing so. During the episode of Making the Band that aired on April 16, 2009, Combs gave her a formal release from the contract that she had with Bad Boy Records.

O’Day and three other former members of the group made an appearance on the last episode of the program on April 23, 2009, to dispel any lingering misunderstandings over the dissolution of the band. She said that she has forgiven both being kicked out of the group and the individuals who held her responsible for the dissolution of the organization. Combs has said that O’Day and the other four members of the group would be making a comeback as Danity Kane in the event that he ever decides to reunite the group.

O’Day took a semester off between his senior year of high school and his first year at the University of California, Irvine to travel the world. During her travels across many nations, she volunteered her time with a variety of charitable organizations, including orphanages, refugee centers, and facilities for children with HIV/AIDS.

During her time as a volunteer, she assisted those who had lost everything as a result of Hurricane Katrina and worked on a charity photobook called The Pink Project, which raised money for RAINN and the Los Angeles Breast Cancer Alliance. Soon after, O’Day established her own group, which she dubbed FAN. (Fighting Aids Now). The mission of the organization is to provide children who are ill with both therapeutic art and creative outlets.

O’Day was a supporter of Barack Obama for president of the United States during the campaign for that year’s presidential election in the United States. She is also a champion for homosexual rights, and for the Celebrity Apprentice competition, she selected the “Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network” as the organization she would want to support.
