Baekhyun Biography and Career:
‘Byun Baek-Hyun was born in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea on the 6th of May 1992. ‘ Byun Baek-beam is his older brother. Music training began at the age of 11 and he drew inspiration from South Korean singer, actor, and producer Jung Ji-hoon, best known by his stage name “Rain”. Kim Hyun-woo, a member of the South Korean rock band ‘DickPunks,’ taught him how to play the piano.
He went to Bucheon’s ‘Jungwon High School,’ where he was in the band ‘Honsusangtae,’ and sang lead. When he was in high school, his band took first place in a local music competition. Before taking the entrance tests for ‘Seoul Institute of the Arts,’ SM Entertainment spotted him. He then auditioned for the label and was signed in January 2011. Hapkido is a Korean martial art in which Baekhyun has achieved the rank of dan 3.
In addition to having a dog named Mongryoung, he has a soft spot for animals. He, on the other hand, dislikes being outside and would rather spend his time playing computer games. He paid tribute to the late Kim Hyun-Sik, the original singer of the song, by performing the number ‘Like Rain Like Music’ during the annual ‘SBS’ music show in December 2015.
After then, someone recorded and distributed a digital version of the song. January 2016 saw the debut of his collaboration with South Korean pop singer Suzy from the girl band “Miss A,” entitled “Dream. ‘Gaon’s’ Weekly Digital Chart’ and online real-time music charts both ranked the song at the top. The song also took home the top prize on the popular Philippine TV shows “Music Bank” and “Inkigayo.”
“The Day,” his folk-ballad duet with singer K Will, has become a popular folk-ballad duet on the musical venture of the same name from SM Entertainment: Baekhyun has carved out a unique sound for himself over the years, and it’s become a global hit. He made his television debut in ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,’ a historical drama based on a Chinese novel, in August 2016.
Several critics praised his work, and he was named ‘SBS Drama Award’s 2016 New Star.’ In October 2016, he and Chen and Xiumin founded ‘Exo-CBX,’ a sub-unit of ‘Exo.’ They published ‘Hey Mama,’ a first EP with five songs spanning several genres. By the end of 2016, Baekhyun had amassed a sizable fan base. He joined SM Entertainment’s ‘League of Legends,’ a multiplayer online combat arena video game, right away.
