In Brooklyn, New York, Bleta Rexha was born on 30 August 1989 to Albanian parents. In Albania, the word “Bleta” means “bumblebee.” Her Albanian name inspired her to give herself the nickname “Bebe,” which she would later adopt as her stage name.
