Initially, O’Reilly worked as a news anchor and reporter in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He quickly moved up the ranks, working in comparable capacities for news outlets in cities like Dallas, Boston, and New York. ‘Inside Edition,’ a CBS program, catapulted him to celebrity and provided him the widespread recognition he craved.

He left “Inside Edition” to go back to school, only to be hired as a newscaster and political commentator for “The O’Reilly Factor” on ABC News. The show has been innovative ever since it first aired; this includes a unique combination of news analysis and investigative reporting. He has written several books, some of which have become bestsellers, in addition to hosting programs on television and radio. His forceful interview style and willingness to be openly critical of prominent world figures have earned him a reputation for acerbic commentary.
