Blake Masters born August 5, 1986, is an American venture investor, political candidate, and author. Masters co-wrote Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future with Peter Thiel in 2014, based on notes Masters had taken at Stanford Law School in 2012. Later, Masters served as both presidents of the Thiel Foundation and chief operating officer of Thiel’s investment company, Thiel Capital. He was born in Denver, Colorado, in 1986, the son of Marilyn Masters, who ran a tutoring business, and Scott Masters, a software professional. He was raised in Tucson, Arizona.  While in high school, Masters played basketball at Green Fields Country Day School, which at the time was a private school in Tucson.

He graduated in 2004. Master graduated with a political science bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 2008.
