Catherine Oxenberg Biography and Career:

American actress Catherine Oxenberg was born on September 22, 1961. She is best known for playing Amanda Carrington in the popular serial series Dynasty from the 1980s. Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia and Howard Oxenberg are the parents of Oxenberg. She portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales on cinema twice, in Charles and Diana: Unhappily Ever After and The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana. She has also acted in a number of other movies. Oxenberg was raised in London even though he was born in New York City. She is the oldest child of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, a personal friend of the Kennedys and a Jewish clothing maker, and her first husband Howard Oxenberg.

She is Christina Oxenberg’s sister. Princess Elizabeth is the only child of Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark and Prince Paul of Yugoslavia, who acted as regent for King Peter II of Yugoslavia, his cousin. India Riven Oxenberg, the daughter of William Weitz Shaffer, a convicted drug smuggler, was born to Oxenberg in June 1991. India and Shaffer kept in touch throughout her upbringing, even while he was incarcerated. Oxenberg was residing in Coldwater Canyon with her daughter in December 1992. On July 12, 1998, in Beverly Hills, California, Oxenberg married the producer Robert Evans; however, the union was dissolved nine days later.

During the production of the 1999 television movie The Collectors, Oxenberg first worked with actor Casper Van Dien; they later collaborated on the Evangelical Christian thriller The Omega Code. In 2011, Oxenberg enrolled her daughter India in NXIVM for what she believed would be “a self-help, business-oriented program.” In addition to starting what ultimately turned out to be a fruitless intervention for India, Oxenberg acknowledged that her daughter got deeply embroiled in the cult.

In August 2018, Oxenberg said that they were repairing their relationship after India quit NXIVM in June after Raniere’s incarceration.  In August 2018, Natasha Stoynoff, a former journalist for People Magazine, co-authored Oxenberg’s book Captive: A Mother’s Crusade to Save Her Daughter from a Terrifying Cult.  was made public. In 2020, Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer’s HBO documentary series The Vow, which chronicles Oxenberg’s efforts to save her daughter India, included Oxenberg.
