Chris Rock Biography and Career:
Chris Rock was born in Andrews Town, South Carolina, on February 7, 1965, and his family shortly moved to Brooklyn, New York. The family relocated to Bedford-Stuyvesant, a working-class area in Brooklyn. His father, Christopher Julius Rock II, delivered newspapers and drove a truck, while his mother, Rose Rock, taught at a mental institution. Chris Rock was the eldest of four children born to Jordan, Kenny, and Tony Rock. His three brothers all followed him into the entertainment world. His father died in 1988 of ulcer.
Charles, his older stepbrother, died in 2006 after a long battle with dipsomania. Allen Rock, Chris’s paternal grandpa and a parson by trade influenced his comedy approach.
