DJ Zinhle Biography and Career:

Ntombezinhle Jiyane, better known by her stage name DJ Zinhle, is a South African DJ, producer, media personality, and businesswoman who is most recognized for her work as a DJ and producer. Zinhle has also explored a career in the entertainment industry.

On television, she has appeared as a judge in Jika MaJika, Idols South Africa, Turn It On, and 1’s and 2′ (2021). She has also appeared as a guest on the television series eKasi: Our Stories (2011), Play Your Part (2012), Tropika Island (2012), The Close Up (2013), and Rhythm City (2014), among others

Ntombezinhle Jiyane was born in the town of Dannhauser in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. After leaving Dannhauser, she decided to stay in Newcastle and further her education at Siyamukela High School in Emadadeni, Newcastle, where she currently resides.

DJ Zinhle began her professional career in 2004. In the beginning, she intended to be a TV presenter and had no ambitions to become a DJ. However, her brother’s passion for mixing vinyl records rubbed off on her, which sparked her interest in the field. She got her first break as a resident DJ on a youth dance show called Jika Majika, which aired on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

The album I Put It In, on which she collaborated with South African music legend Boom Shaka, and featured other renowned musicians such as Dr. Malinga, Khanyi Mbau, Mphoza, and many others, is a highlight of her career. Along with Amanda Black, she was the featured performer at the Sisters with Soul concert. She took up two trophies during the second presentation of the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards, including Best House DJ and Best House Female Artist, among others.

Zinhle also performed as the opening act for the Zimfest 2019 live concert, a Zimbabwean festival hosted in the United Kingdom. Her 2019 breakthrough track “Umlilo” amassed 5.1 million streams in just three months and was certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). It was also named Song of the Year for 2019.

DJ Zinhle has been selected as the headline performer for the first-ever Red Bull Music Experience, which will take place in Cape Town.
