Biography & Career: Iain Glen was born on 24th June 1961 in  Edinburgh, Scotland. He is an admirable American movie actor and television actor popular for her best roles in many movies and television series.

He was studied at the Edinburgh Academy, which is an independent boys’ school (now co-educational), accompanied by the University of Aberdeen. He further trained in acting at the RADA, in London, where he received the Bancroft Gold Medal.

Glen won the Silver Bear for Leading Actor at the 40th Berlin International Film Festival in 1990 for his character in Silent Scream. In that year, he was played the lead act as Hamlet, Prince of Denmark in Tom Stoppard’s movie adaptation of his role Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, which earned the “Golden Lion” at the Venice Film Festival.

He was honored for the Olivier Award for his appearance in The Blue Room next to Nicole Kidman. In 2002, Glen performed along with Emilia Fox in the Italian-French-British romantic-drama film The Soul Keeper produced by Roberto Faenza.

It was declared in 2009 that Glen would be portraying Ser Jorah Mormont in the HBO series Game of Thrones. In 2010, he performed the character of Father Octavian, head of a sect of clerics who had been on a mission against the Weeping Angels in “The Time of Angels” and “Flesh and Stone”, a two-episode story which was part of the fifth season of the revamped Doctor Who which is a television show.

Even during the second season of the Downton Abbey, he acted as Sir Richard Carlisle, a newspaper publisher who was a suitor too, and eventually to, Lady Mary. From 2010 to the current time, Glen performed the title role in the Irish TV crime series Jack Taylor, evolved from the novels by Ken Bruen.

In the 2012 BBC television drama show Prisoners’ Wives, he portrays Paul, Francesca ‘s boyfriend, whose luxurious life ruins when he is arrested for drug smuggling. Also in 2012, he performed in a recent four-part BBC Radio 4 adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo, produced by Sebastian Baczkiewicz, conducted by Jeremy Mortimer and Sasha Yevtushenko. He played the main character in the new play Longing in 2013.

From 6 December 2013 to early January 2014, Glen made appearances together with Richard McCabe in Fortune’s Fool at the Old Vic, which is directed by Lucy Bailey. He was supposed to perform in full swing until 22 February 2014, but was urged to quit soon to recover from sickness, with his appearance taken over by his undergraduate Patrick Cremin and then by William Houston, who entered the show at almost the same moment as Glen ‘s withdrawal.

Glen gave a voiceover to the Vauxhall Mokka commercial in 2015. In 2019, it was exposed that Glen will be starring Bruce Wayne on Titans’ DC Universe Television series.
