Jacob Rees-Mogg is a British politician who is a prominent member of the ‘Conservative Party.’ He was born in the United Kingdom. He was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the North East Somerset seat in the 2015 general election. He was born into a well-to-do, well-connected family. His mother was the daughter of a politician associated with the ‘Conservative Party.’ He received his bachelor’s degree from ‘Trinity College,’ Oxford, where he served as president of the ‘Oxford University Conservative Association and was a regular debater. He is married and has two children.

His first work was with the investment banking firm ‘Rothschild’ in New York City. After a while, he went on to establish his own business, Somerset Capital Management. He began politics when he was 26 years old and served as the chairman of the ‘Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Association’ for a number of years. He developed a reputation as one of the more outspoken members of the ‘Conservative Party’ in the House of Commons. He is outspoken in his opposition to the ‘European Union,’ same-sex marriage, and abortion, among other things. He thinks that technology should be supported and that actions to combat climate change should not be seen as a hindrance to progress.

“The Christian Church,” as well as monarchy, are two of his most passionate passions.” He opposes the participation of the United Kingdom in foreign conflicts and has spoken out against immigration to the United Kingdom. He has six children with his wife, Helena de Chair, with whom he has been married for almost a decade. Despite his denials that he has any ambitions to become Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, he is a serious candidate for the leadership of his party.

William Rees-Mogg and Gillian Shakespeare Morris had a son named Jacob William Rees-Mogg on May 24, 1969, in Hammersmith, London, England, who would go on to become the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. ‘The Times’ newspaper was edited by his father, while his mother is the daughter of a Conservative Party politician who served as the mayor of St. Pancras, London, in the 1960s.

He has three elder brothers and sisters. Also, he has a younger sister called Annunziata Rees-Mogg, who grew up to be a freelance writer with a focus on economics and European politics, as well as a brother named Jacob Rees-Mogg. Prior to his parents’ relocation to Hinton Blewett, he grew up in ‘Ston Easton Park,’ their family’s country mansion. “Westminster Under School,” an independent boys’ preparatory school, was where he went to school. He was reared by Veronica Crook, a nanny who has been with the family for more than 50 years and who is now the governess of his children.

A distant relative handed him GBP 50, which his father deposited on his behalf in the “General Electric Company” when he was ten years old, and this was his first introduction to the stock market (GEC). In the course of his research, he became interested in the market and eventually attended a shareholders’ meeting of the firm.

After finishing preparatory school, he was accepted into ‘Eton College.’ He developed a reputation for being rigid, rather than rebellious, during his time there. In addition to being featured as part of the ‘Eton College Collections,’ his portrait by Paul Branson was also on display during the ‘Faces of 1993 Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ exhibition.

Jacob Rees-Mogg graduated with an ‘Upper Second-Class Honors degree in history from ‘Trinity College,’ Oxford, in 1991. He is a member of the Conservative Party. In 1993, he moved to Hong Kong to work for a company called ‘Lloyd George Management,’ where he made good friends with the city’s governor, Chris Patten. He returned to London in 1996 and ascended through the ranks to become the managing director of the ‘Lloyd George Emerging Markets Fund’ by 2003.

His employment at Lloyd George Management ended in 2007, and he went on to start his own business, Somerset Capital Management. The Cayman Islands and Singapore were used as tax havens for the monies controlled by the corporation. After being elected to the House of Commons, he resigned from his position as chief executive of the corporation, although he remained to share in the earnings as a partner in the company.

The Conservative Party nominated Rees-Mogg for Central Fife, a traditionally “Labour Party” constituency in Scotland when he was 26 years old. Rees-Mogg was elected to the House of Commons as a candidate for the Conservative Party. His upper-class upbringing did not sit well with the working-class voters, who rejected him. As a result, he was critical of David Cameron’s policies, who was formerly the head of the ‘Conservative Party,’ and who called for more participation of ethnic minorities in the party.

The Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Association elected him as its chairman in 2005, and he remained in that position until 2008. He previously served as a director of the ‘Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth’ in London, where he was forced to quit after disagreements over the implementation of a stricter rule prohibiting abortion and gender reassignment operations at the facility.

The North East Somerset seat was represented by Jacob Rees-Mogg, who was elected to the House of Commons by a margin of 4,914 votes in the 2010 general election. He also voted against the whip on the ‘Fixed-term Parliaments Bill,’ the ‘European Union Referendum Motion,’ and the ‘European Union Referendum Motion,’ all of which were introduced in 2012.

In addition to serving on a number of “Select Committees,” he was a member of the “Advisory Committee on Works of Art,” “European Scrutiny Committee,” “Joint Committee on the Palace of Westminster,” “Procedure Committee,” “Treasury Select Committee,” and “Exiting the European Union Select Committee.” He was also a member of the “Advisory Committee on Works of Art,” “European Scrutiny Committee,” “Joint Committee on the Palace

Following the referendum results, David Cameron resigned as Prime Minister and the ‘Conservatives’ were required to pick a new leader. Rees-Mogg backed Boris Johnson and Andrea Leadsom in the election. Soon after, he expressed his support for Prime Minister Theresa May. Aside from that, there have been rumors of his running for the leadership of the so-called “Conservative Party.”

In January 2018, he was chosen to the position of chairman of the European Research Group (ERG). He was able to improve his position inside the ‘Conservative Party,’ which fueled rumors that he was attempting to seize control of the organization.
