Jim Cummings Biography and Career:

James Jonah Cummings is a well-known American voice actor born November 3, 1952. He began his acting career in the 1980s and has starred in approximately 400 roles since then. Since 1988, Cummings has provided the official voice for Winnie the Pooh; since 1989, he has provided the voice for Tigger; since 1991, he has provided the voice for the Tasmanian Devil; and since 1992, he has provided the voice for Pete. Cummings has worked often with both The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros.

Other significant parts that he has played include Fat Cat and Monterey Jack on Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (1989–1990), the titular character of Darkwing Duck (1991–1992), Dr. Robotnik on the Sonic the Hedgehog animated series (1993–1994), Kaa on Jungle Cubs (1996–1998), and Cat on CatDog (1998–2005). All of these appearances were in animated programs. Cummings was born in Youngstown, Ohio, but he moved to New Orleans when he was young.

He worked as a riverboat deckman, created and painted Mardi Gras floats, sang and played drums in the locally popular rock band Fusion, and built and painted Mardi Gras floats. He had his elementary education at Immaculate Conception and St. Columba schools and his high school education at Ursuline, from which he graduated in 1970.
