James Robert Davis is a well-known cartoonist, screenwriter, television producer, writer for television, and film producer in the United States. He is also a television producer. The 28th of July, 1945 was the day Davis was born. He is probably best known for creating the comic strips Garfield and U.S. Acres, both of which have garnered him a significant amount of recognition.

One of the comic strips that has been consistently published since 1978, Garfield is also one of the comic strips that is one of the most widely syndicated comic strips in the entire world. Davis’s past works in the form of comic books include such characters as Mr. Potato Head, Tumbleweeds, and Gnorm Gnat, among others.

Davis was either the sole author or a co-author of every single one of the Garfield television specials that were broadcast on CBS for the very first time between the years 1982 and 1991.
