John Piper Biography and Career:

In the city of Chattanooga in Tennessee, John Piper was born to his parents, Bill and Ruth Piper. Because of his father’s work as an evangelist and church planter, his mother did most of the childrearing while he was growing up. The family relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, where he attended Wade Hampton High School and ultimately earned his diploma. Between the years 1964 and 1968, he was a student at Wheaton College, where he majored in literature and philosophy and also studied Romantic Literature.

During his time at the university, he signed up for the Pre-med program; nevertheless, he ultimately decided to pursue a career in the ministry and received a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminar in California.
