Kid Ink Biography and Career:

Kid Ink was given the name Brian Todd Collins at his birth on April 1st, 1986 in the city of Los Angeles, California, in the United States. He did not have a father, therefore his mother brought him up on her own with the help of his grandpa, who also offered financial assistance. He also has two step-sisters and two step-brothers in addition to his elder brother. When they were both still in their adolescent years, he introduced himself to fitness model Asiah Asante.

In June of 2015, the pair announced their engagement after having been together for ten years. In February of 2016, they became parents to a little girl whom they named Aislin Parvaneh Collins. Kid Ink, whose real name is Brian Todd Collins, is a stage name used by an American singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer who goes by the moniker Kid Ink.


Previously, he went by the name Rockstar. Collins began producing beats at the age of 16 after attending after-school music programs and being inspired to do so by the music and work ethic of Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland. Collins was 16 years old at the time. He was responsible for producing songs by Sean Kingston, Nipsey Hussle, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, amongst other artists. At the age of 22, he launched his career as a professional rapper.

On February 1, 2010, he debuted his career with the release of his first official mixtape named “World Tour.” In 2011, he released his very first single that was not included on an album; the song was titled “Hero. ” On June 12, 2012, he released his first studio album, which was titled “Up & Away.” The ‘US Rap Albums’ list placed it in the second slot when it was released.

On May 28, 2013, he released his debut extended play (EP) titled “Almost Home,” which reached its highest position on the same list at number four. Chris Brown, Meek Mill (“Bad Ass,” 2013), Tyga (“Iz U Down,” 2013), Jeremih (“Me Too,” 2014), and Jamie Foxx (“Baby’s in Love,” 2015) are among the artists with whom he has worked together. The “Freshman Class” issue of XXL magazine from 2012 highlighted him as one of the artists to look out for.

His song “Ride Out” was included on the soundtrack of the movie “Furious 7,” which was released in 2015. Kid Ink has been making music from the beginning of his career that defies categorization and pushes the limits of established conventions. In 2009, he began performing under the stage name “Rockstar,” and in 2010, he distributed his mixtape “World Tour” independently and alone to online media channels.

Following the success of the mixtape, he earned a recording contract with the ‘Tha Alumni Group label.’  In 2010, he began using the stage name “Kid Ink,” and he commemorated the event by releasing his second mixtape, titled “Crash Landing.” After releasing his third mixtape, titled “Daydreamer,” in June of the same year, featuring original productions from a variety of artists such as Lex Luger, Tha Bizness, and Jahlil Beats, he went on to release his fourth mixtape, titled “Wheels Up,” in October. This mixtape featured artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Tyga, 2 Chainz, and Travis Porter.

His first studio album, titled ‘Up & Away,’ was released on CD and LP on June 12, 2012, in addition to being made available online. The album had a total of six songs, three of which were titled ‘Time of Your Life,’ ‘Lost in the Sauce,’ and ‘Drippin,’ respectively. DJ Ill Will, ‘The Arsenals,’ DJ Spinz, Ned Cameron, and many other individuals were the producers. The album peaked at position three on the list that tracks “US R&B/Hip-Hop.” His sixth mixtape, titled ‘Rocketshipshawty,’ was made available for download on November 21, 2012.

Kid Ink made the announcement on Twitter in January 2013 that he had signed a recording contract with RCA Records. Soon after, he released a new track titled “Bad Ass.” On May 28, 2013, he released his EP titled “Almost Home,” which also served as his debut on a big label. The second single taken from the EP was titled “Money and the Power,” and it was used on the soundtrack of the video game “NBA Live 14,” as well as the reality sports documentary television series “Hard Knocks” shown on HBO.

Additionally, it was selected to be one of the theme songs for this year’s “Wrestlemania 31.” During the occasion, Kid Ink did a live rendition of the song while Skylar Grey and Travis Barker provided support for him. On January 7, 2014, he released his second studio album under the title “My Own Lane.” The album earned number two place on the ‘US R&B/Hip-Hop chart after it debuted at number one on the ‘US Rap Albums list. The album was awarded the Gold certification by the ‘RIAA’ on February 9, 2016.


The album’s debut song, titled “Show Me,” which has a hook performed by Chris Brown, was awarded the status of double Platinum by the RIAA. On August 26, 2014, he released his sixth mixtape, which was titled “4B’s” and was a joint effort with “Batang.” His third studio album, titled “Full Speed,” was out on January 30, 2015, under ‘Tha Alumni Music Group,’ ’88 Classic,’ and ‘RCA Records.’ It topped the charts for ‘US Rap Albums’ as well as ‘US R&B/Hip-Hop Albums,’ and it was accompanied by four singles:

‘Body Language,’ which featured Usher and Tinashe, ‘Hotel,’ which featured Chris Brown, ‘Be Real,’ which featured Dej Loaf, and ‘Dolo’ (featuring R. Kelly). His second song to be awarded the Platinum certification was titled “Be Real.” On December 25, 2015, Kid Ink presented the world with “Summer in the Winter,” his fourth and most recent album to come from a recording studio. Akon, Fetty Wap, and Bia were among the artists that participated in it. On September 20, 2016, he released his eighth mixtape, which was given the label’RSS2′.
