Lando Norris Biography and Career:
McLaren hired Lando Norris at the age of seventeen to be their test and reserve driver. When Norris won the opening race of the season at Rockingham and passed Ticktum for second in the third, he overtook Collard’s 18-point championship lead. In the next race, at Silverstone, Norris collided with Toby Sowery, and Ticktum received a one-year ban from racing for intentionally driving into Collard during the Safety Car period. Mucke Motorsport was also his teammate in the German series, where he competed. On his debut at Spa, he finished fourth, then second, and then won the third and final race. Later, he confessed that things “couldn’t have gone any better.” An outing to the Nurburgring resulted in another second-place finish, but a collision at the Hockenheimring, in which he was involved with David Beckmann, resulted in him being sent to the hospital. The fact that this happened on the weekend before his MSA F4 title-deciding race was a comfort for him.
