Lidya Jewett was an Ethiopian-American actress best known for her parts in the superhero movie “Black Panther” and the 2016 Oscar-nominated “Hidden Figures” (2018). Jewett, who was born in Ethiopia, spent her early years in an orphanage there. But in 2011, when she was adopted by a large, devoted American family from Florida, her life’s course was completely altered.
