Mookie Betts Biography and Career:

Mookie Betts was born on October 7th, 1992 in the city of Nashville, which is located in Tennessee. In Major League Baseball, he plays right field. While playing for the Red Sox in 2018, he made history by being the first player in the history of Major League Baseball to win the batting championship.

The Red Sox selected Betts in the first round of the 2011 draught, and he made his debut in Major League Baseball in the 2014 season, playing second base and the outfield. On the Baseball America Minor League All-Star Team for 2013, Betts was selected for the second team. The first team pick at the second base went to Marcus Semien, an infielder who plays for the Chicago White Sox organization. After that, Betts participated in 16 games with the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League, where he hit.271 with the bat.

Betts began the 2014 campaign with the Portland Sea Dogs of the Double-A Eastern League. He batted.355 in 54 games with the Sea Dogs, which was good enough to lead the Eastern League in batting average until June 2. Betts was promoted to the Pawtucket Red Sox of the Triple-A International League on June 3, and in his first 23 games with the PawSox, he hit.322 and reached base safely every time he batted.
