R. Kelly, full name Robert Sylvester Kelly (born January 8, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, United States), is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who established himself as one of the most successful rhythm and blues (R&B) performers of the 1990s and early 2000s. Kelly was well-known for his gospel-influenced vocal delivery and sexualized lyrics.
