Sheryl Rubio Biography and Career:

Sheryl Dayana Rubio Rojas is a Venezuelan actress, singer, model, dancer, songwriter, and fashion designer. She is best known for playing Sheryl in the Boomerang Latin America television series Somos t y yo. She was born on December 28, 1992. Rubio has been a part of the Netflix series The House of Flowers since 2018 as Lucia Davila. Venezuela’s Caracas is the place of Sheryl Rubio’s birth.

Her parents are Oscar Rubio and Damaris Rojas. She had an older sister named Damaris Belmonte, who was killed in 1997 by her boyfriend. The actress was only five years old at the time, and she admitted that the incident was a hard blow for her and her mother. As a result of this experience, she has appeared in a number of UN Women campaigns against gender violence and for women’s rights.


Rubio attended Colegio San Jose de Tarbes in Caracas, where she studied. According to her statements, she was tormented and not particularly well-liked at school. When she was seven years old, she had an interest in acting and started her career in modest television parts. Rubio began his acting career pursuits in 1999. Before making the switch to television, she started out by acting in several commercials.

At the age of 8, Rubio made her acting debut in the telenovela Amantes de Luna Llena, where she played Angela Rigores. She performed the role of Micaela Benavides in the telenovela La Soberana in 2001. As Renata Antoni Diaz in La nia de mis ojos, Rubio received her first major television lead role in 2002.She started working on the TV programme Atómico in 2005 when she was 11 years old.

Casting for Somos t y yo started in 2006. The main goal of the casting directors was to discover the ideal series heroine. When the actress turned up for the casting, the producers were struck by the young woman’s self-assurance and chose her to play Sheryl Sanchez, the series’s protagonist.  The series was a Boomerang and Venevisión co-production, and it was aired across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

The series was premiered for the first time on 27 June 2007 in Venezuela on Venevisión. On January 15, 2008, Boomerang debuted the show throughout Europe and Latin America. On December 15, 2008, the show came to an end, and 9.8 million people watched the final episode. When the show finished in 2009, a compilation CD called Somos t y yo: un nuevo da was produced. It contained ten songs from the series and was performed by the cast during their 2008 tour of Venezuela.

In the third season of Somos t y yo: Un nuevo da, which premiered in January 2009, Rubio performed the roles of Sheryl Sanchez and Candy. On the American film Grease, the television show was based.  The Boomerang aired the first episode of the series on August 17, 2009. returned to the television show NPS: No puede ser in January 2010 as Sheryl Sanchez.

The series is the second offshoot of Somos ty yo and serves as its finale.  On July 25, 2010, Venevisión in Venezuela and The Boomerang broadcast the first episode of the series. She made her telenovela debut in the same year, playing Sofia Carlota in Martin Hahn’s La viuda joven. On the Spanish Carmen Cervera, the telenovela was based. Venevisión debuted the telenovela on March 16, 2011.

In the Martin Hahn and Sandra Rioboó-produced telenovela Mi ex me tiene ganas, she portrayed Stefany Miller in 2011. The telenovela’s Venevisión debut was on May 16, 2012, and it ended on December 5, 2012. Regarding the nature of the media in Latin America, Rubio received a favourable response. She has developed as an actress in a more mature role with this character. In the same year, Rubio was chosen to serve as a judge for the Miss Teen Aruba International 2012 pageant.

She and Lasso contributed vocals to the song “Quiero que vuelvas” in 2012.Rubio delivered the monologue “Sheryl’s Confession” written by Amaris Páez during two live performances in Caracas and Maracaibo in 2013. She took part in the Corazón Esmeralda telenovela in January 2014.

A number of songs in the series are performed by Rubio’s character, a singer-songwriter.  Venevisión debuted the telenovela on March 3, 2014. In the same year, Rubio and the clothing manufacturer Melao worked together to create a range of garments for Venezuelan consumers.

Rubio previewed Sheryl Rubio, created in partnership with Melao, in August 2014 before it was launched in October at the Centro Sambil in Caracas, Venezuela.She portrayed ngela Mendori in an Escándalos episode from 2015 that was inspired on the kidnappings of Ariel Castro that took place in the US between 2002 and 2004.


Performed the part of Malibu in the television series Los Hijos de Don Juan in August 2015. In August 2016, she appeared in the Upload Initiative campaign for StandWithUs, an Israeli non-profit organisation, along with Candelaria Molfese. The project, which aims to encourage tourism in Israel,required the actress to go and spend a few days in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Rubio was cast in the upcoming 2017 television series Guerra de Dolos, which was announced by Netflix and Telemundo in November 2016.She acted in the Netflix original series La Casa de las Flores in 2018.
