The Undertaker Biography and Career:

When Mark William Calaway was born on March 24, 1965, he was the son of Frank Compton Calaway and Betty Catherine Truby, who were both born in Houston, Texas, United States.At the time, he was attending Waltrip High School, where he received his diploma in 1983. He was a talented basketball player as a teenager and was a member of the high school squad. When he finished high school, he went on to attend Texas Wesleyan University, where he played basketball. Three times, The Undertaker has been married. A son was born in 1993 to his marriage to Jodi Lynn.  In 2000, he married Sara for the second time, a year after his first marriage ended.


He got Sara’s name tattooed on his neck as a wedding present. After having two children together, the couple split up and eventually divorced in 2007. He married Michelle McCool, a former professional wrestler, in 2010 and had their first kid in 2012. In 1984, he made his professional wrestling debut for ‘World Class Championship Wrestling’ (WCCW). ‘Texas Red’ was the ring name he used for the first several years, but he afterward adopted a number of other ring aliases. In 1989, he became a member of ‘World Championship Wrestling,’ earning the ring name ‘Mean Mark Callous.’

On November 22, 1990, during ‘Survivor Series,’ he emerged as the mystery partner of Ted DiBiase’s ‘Million Dollar’ team, making his on-camera debut as a heel for the first time. In his first year in the WWF, he fought with Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior, and Hulk Hogan.

Hogan and Flair teamed up to help him win the WWF Championship at the 1991 ‘Survivor Series’ in order to make him the youngest holder of the title, a record that was broken in 1993 by Yokozuna. A back issue kept him out of the ring for several months throughout the following two years of wrestling. Returning to the “Survivor Series” one year after his first appearance, Inafune was victorious in the casket match, defeating Yokozuna. The ‘WWF Tag Team Championship’ was won by the Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin in a 1998 match called ‘Fully Loaded,’ in which they defeated Kane and Mankind.

He had a groin injury in the late 1990s and had to take a break from wrestling to heal. For his comeback, he changed his look from mortician to biker; he ditched his old clothing for a new one. He defeated Van Dam to win the ‘WWF Hardcore Championship’ in 2001 at Vengeance. When the wrestler eventually won his first ‘Royal Rumble’ battle in 2007, it was an excellent year for him. Shawn Michaels, the 23rd contestant in the ‘Rumble,’ was eliminated by him at No. 30.


Undertaker helped Kane in 2012 as he was being challenged by Jinder Mahal and others on the 1000th edition of ‘Raw,’ which featured appearances by Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks as well as Hunico and Camacho. Overcoming six other wrestlers was a thrilling experience for The Undertaker and Kane. The ‘Wyatt Family’ captured the Undertaker after he lost to Brock Lesnar in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ bout in 2015.

In November of that year, the Undertaker and Kane defeated the ‘Wyatt Family’ at the ‘Survivor Series,’ marking the culmination of their 25-year run in ‘WWE.’ In January 2018, he appeared in the ‘Raw 25 Years’ edition and defeated John Cena in a three-minute squash match after making infrequent appearances in the late-2010s. WrestleMania 35 was the first time he has missed a WrestleMania match in nearly two decades; he returned at Super ShowDown and defeated Goldberg.
