Tony Yayo Biography and Career:

Tony Yayo is a New York rapper who first gained notoriety as a member of 50 Cent’s rap crew G-Unit. His 2005 first album, Thoughts of a Predicate Felon, landed at number two on the US charts. He was detained twice: once in 2003 for carrying a Glock 20 handgun and a Colt AR 15 in his car’s trunk, and once in 2004 for possessing a fake passport.

Marvin Bernard is his given name. His stage name pays homage to the role that Al Pacino played in the 1983 film Scarface. He has a daughter named Maniyah and a son named London. He had been buddies with the two G-Unit founders, 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, for his whole life.

Before Jay-Z had the chance to sign the Fayetteville native, according to Tony Yayo, he was an early supporter of J. Cole and even connected the musician with 50 Cent. Yayo mentioned some of the same points made in the VladTV interview up top while posting a photo of himself and Cole from back in 2015.

Marvin Bernard, better known by his stage name Tony Yayo, was born in the United States on March 31, 1978. He founded the hip hop group G-Unit with his boyhood pals 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, and the group is well recognised for its members.

Thoughts of a Predicate Felon, Yayo’s debut and sole studio album, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 in 2005. His stage name is a combination of Yayo, a slang word for cocaine, and Tony Montana, the main character of the 1983 movie Scarface.

Yayo was born Marvin Bernard, the youngest of three children, to Haitian parents in South Jamaica, Queens, New York City. When Bernard was 16 years old, his parents split up. He started selling narcotics when he was 15 years old and left school after the ninth grade.

He made longtime friends with 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks when they were kids. The three later established the group G-Unit and started making music together. In the early 2000s, they released a number of mixtapes, including 2002’s 50 Cent is the Future, No Mercy, No Fear, and God’s Plan.

After the success of his debut studio album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent, the leader of G-Unit, was given his own record company, “G-Unit Records,” by Interscope while Yayo was incarcerated in 2003. Yayo and Lloyd Banks of G-Unit were instantly signed by 50 to the label, and Young Buck was later signed as the group’s fourth formal member.

Beg for Mercy, the first official group album by G-Unit that was released in November 2003, was later awarded a 4 Platinum certification in the US. Although Yayo was serving time in jail for weapons-related offences when the album was published, Yayo was still a featured artist.

In July 2008, the second G-Unit album T.O.S: Terminate on Sight was published, and it quickly sold 102,000 copies. Although his presence on various mixtapes during and after his release from prison served as a street-level announcement of his return, Yayo did not achieve wide acclaim until the release of his debut single, “So Seductive,” featuring 50 Cent.

Thoughts of a Predicate Felon, Tony Yayo’s first studio album, was released in August 2005 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The fact that Tony Yayo is now working on his second studio album has been confirmed. The album’s title hasn’t been officially chosen yet.

“Pass the Patron,” the album’s lead track, is a collaboration between 50 Cent and other artists. G-Unit Records / EMI, who will also promote and distribute the record, will release it. Yayo released “Haters,” the second single from his upcoming album, on March 2, 2011.

Shawty Lo, 50 Cent, and Roscoe Dash are featured in the song. The song was made available on Thisis50.com after Funkmaster Flex gave it its Hot 97 debut. The song gained popularity on urban radio charts very quickly, and it soon made its debut on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B chart.

In 2003, Tony Yayo acquired a record deal with Interscope Records, where he debuted with the album Thoughts of a Predicate Felon. Later, in 2009, the label fired him. On Friday, August 13, 2010, on MTV News, Lloyd Banks revealed a contract with 50 Cent’s record company, G-Unit Records, in which EMI Label Services would distribute.

And promote albums on the G-Unit roster in North America, including Yayo’s untitled second album. Yayo was detained on December 31, 2002, along with 50 Cent, for possessing guns. He had a Colt AR-15 rifle and a Glock 20 handgun in the trunk of his automobile.

Yayo received a year in prison for bail jumping when police found that he had an outstanding warrant for a prior charge. Yayo was released from the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility on January 8, 2004, after serving his sentence there.

He was detained in federal prison until February 24, 2004, for having a fake passport the next day. “Free Yayo” was a campaign that G-Unit and Eminem started while Yayo was imprisoned. Until he saw Eminem performing at the 2003 Grammy Awards while sporting a “Free Yayo” T-shirt, according to Yayo, he was not aware of how much attention the campaign was receiving.

“Ain’t No Click'” from Lloyd Banks’ debut album The Hunger For More, released in June 2004, was the first song Yayo performed on after being sprung out of prison. On March 24, 2007, Tony Yayo was detained for allegedly attacking Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond’s 14-year-old son.

The toddler was allegedly approached by Yayo and 50 Cent along with members of their group, who then pushed the kid up against a nearby wall. According to reports, Yayo repeatedly struck the boy and yelled, “Fuck Czar Entertainment.” Yayo entered a “not guilty” plea, and 50 Cent has now demonstrated his innocence by posting video of him in his Connecticut house during the alleged event.

On the morning of April 25, 2007, Tony Yayo appeared in court for the first time in New York. The matter was postponed until July 24. In an interview with MTV, Tony Yayo’s attorney expressed his conviction that Yayo is innocent and offered his thoughts on the situation:

I firmly and adamantly assert to you that Tony Yayo did not smack anyone after a careful inquiry. I have faith that [authorities] will reach the same conclusion after their inquiry is finished. As a father, Yayo is aware of the accusations and would never intentionally hurt a child.

The home of Tony Yayo’s mother was “sprayed with gunfire” on April 18, 2007. It is thought that the assault has something to do with Tony Yayo’s house arrest. On the G-Unit song “Straight Out of Southside” from the group’s second album, T.O.S., Yayo makes reference to the attack.

Tony Yayo appeared in court for a hearing involving his alleged assault on July 24, 2007. He refused the prosecution’s offer of a nine-month prison term if he entered a guilty plea. In February 2008, the accusations were withdrawn. Two months later, the son’s mother filed a lawsuit against 50 Cent and Yayo.
