Warsan Shire Biography and Career:

Warsan Shire is a well-known poet and activist from the United Kingdom. Born in Nairobi to Somali parents in 1988, she was reared in London. She is the author of four collections of poetry: teaching my mother how to give birth, published by Flipped Eye Press in 2011, and Our Men Do Not Belong to Us.
