Adam Haseley Biography and Career:

American professional baseball outfielder Adam Donald Haseley was born on April 12, 1996, and is currently a free agent. He was once a player with the Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB). In the first round of the 2017 MLB draft, the Phillies chose him with the eighth overall pick.

2019 saw Haseley make his big league debut, and he played with the Phillies until 2021. Haseley went to The First Academy in Orlando for her high school education. Haseley participated in the 2014 USA Baseball National High School Invitational squad and was a three-time first-team all-district selection while playing high school baseball.

On his way home from a tournament in North Carolina during his senior year, Haseley had a perforated eardrum, a problem that persisted throughout his time in college. The First Academy honored Haseley in its Hall of Fame on February 4, 2020. Haseley also played for USA Baseball on two foreign teams and was a member of the 2013 under-18 squad that won the gold medal.

On April 1, 2015, Haseley made his University of Virginia college debut in a pinch-hitting role against VMI. He was asked to start Game Two of the 2015 College World Series finals against Vanderbilt, with Virginia behind 1-0 in the series, even though he had only pitched in four games that season. In a 3–0 victory that ultimately necessitated a third game, Haseley threw five shutout innings and gave up only four hits.

The next day, the Cavaliers emerged victorious in the inaugural College World Series of the program. As a starting pitcher in his sophomore season, Haseley had a 9–3 win–loss record, a 1.73 earned run average (ERA), and a.304 batting average. Following the 2016 season, he was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s (NCBWA) third-team all-American at utility by Baseball America.

In addition, Haseley was a nominee for the John Olerud Award, which honors the top two-way player in college baseball. He played college summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Orleans Firebirds after the 2016 year, where he was selected a league all-star. Haseley had a.390 batting average in his junior season, which led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). He also hit 14 home runs and had 56 RBI.

In addition, he had more walks (44) than strikeouts (21). Haseley received accolades for his achievements, including first-team all-ACC and first-team all-American from Baseball America and the ABCA. He was once again a John Olerud Award finalist. Using their eighth overall pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, the Philadelphia Phillies chose Haseley.

On June 21, 2017, he agreed to a $5.1 million signing bonus with the Phillies. With the Rookie Gulf Coast League Phillies, Haseley made his professional debut, hitting third and finishing 3-for-4. He was promoted to the Low-A Williamsport Crosscutters after only three games with the GCL Phillies. In 137 at-bats, he batted.270/.350/.380 with two home runs, 18 RBIs, and five stolen bases.

His promotion came again, this time to the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws, where in 66 at-bats, he batted.258/.315/.379 with one home run and six RBIs. With the High-A Florida State League’s Clearwater Threshers, Haseley started the 2018 season batting.300/.343/.415 with five triples (tied for fifth in the league), five home runs, 38 RBIs, and seven steals in 330 at-bats.

Following his promotion, Haseley played for the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils, where he hit 316/.403/.478 in 136 at-bats while also contributing 17 RBIs and 6 home runs. He received the title of Phillies Organization All-Star on his first 165 at-bats of the 2019 season, Haseley returned to Reading and hit 267/.353/.485 with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs.

May 29 saw Haseley promoted to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Phillies’ Triple-A club. In 68 at-bats, he hit.294/.377/.471 with them. On June 4, 2019, the Phillies elevated Haseley to the big leagues due to Andrew McCutchen’s injury.
