Amy Lee is the stage name of American singer-songwriter Amy Lynn Hartzler, known professionally as Amy Lee. She is the frontwoman for the rock band ‘Evanescence’ and the band’s founder. She was schooled in the traditional piano style and cites composers like Mozart and more contemporary musicians like Bjork, Plumb, and Tony Amos as significant influences on her work. She has a commanding mezzo-soprano voice, which lends the song an increased amount of vitality and feeling.
She creates her unique fashion statement with her gothic makeup and Victorian–style apparel, including a corset, long skirts, and knee-high boots.
