Pat Dye and Ralph Jordan were also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Jordan, who coached Auburn from 1951 to 1975, led the Tigers to their first national title and amassed a record 176 victories, the most of any Auburn coach in history.
Jordan–Hare Stadium, originally opened in 1939 and has a capacity of 87,451, is Auburn’s home stadium. On game days, it becomes Alabama’s sixth biggest city, with a population of 200,000. The Auburn Tigers are the 15th most successful team in school history (1869-2019) in terms of winning percentage, with a 63.052 percent winning percentage.
Auburn is ranked 14th greatest college football program in history by the College Football Research Center, and eight Auburn teams are included in Billingsley’s Top 200 Teams of All Time (1869–2010).
