Nancy Cartwright Biography and Career:

Nancy Cartwright is a well-known American actress born on October 25th, 1957. Both the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance and the Annie Award for Best Voice Acting in the Field of Animation was awarded to her for her work on the animated television series The Simpsons, for which she provided the voice of Bart Simpson for a significant portion of the show’s run.

In addition to providing their voices for Nelson Muntz and Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, Kearney, Database, and Maggie, Cartwright also provides the voices for other characters in the program.
Cartwright was born in the city of Dayton in the state of Ohio. In 1978, she journeyed to Hollywood, where she received training from voice actor Daws Butler—following her debut as the voice of Gloria in the animated series Richie Rich. She played the lead role in the television movie Marian Rose White (1982) and the lead role in her first feature film, Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983). Both of these films were released in the United States.

In 1987, Cartwright tried out for a part in a series of animated shorts about a dysfunctional family that would be shown on The Tracey Ullman Show. The shorts were going to be animated. Cartwright had every intention of trying out for the part of Lisa Simpson, the middle child of the Simpson family. Still, after she came to the audition, she discovered that the amount of Bart Simpson, Lisa’s brother, was more interesting to her.

She was allowed to try out for the part of Bart, and after that, series creator Matt Groening decided to cast her in the region. During the first three seasons of The Tracey Ullman sitcom, she provided the voice for the character Bart. In 1989, the shorts were expanded into a half-hour sitcom named The Simpsons. Cartwright has provided the voice for many animated characters in addition to The Simpsons. These characters include Daffney Gillfin from Snorks, Rufus from Kim Possible, Mindy from Animaniacs, and Pistol from Goof Troop.

Her autobiography, titled My Life as a 10-Year-Old Boy, was first published in the year 2000, and then she transformed it into a one-woman show the following year. During her sophomore year, she gave a speech titled “The Art of Animation,” which earned her a fifth-place finish in the National Speech Tournament exposition category.

In 1976, Cartwright got a position as a part-time voice actor for advertisements broadcast on WING radio in Dayton.WING was visited by a representative from Warner Bros. Records, who subsequently provided Cartwright with a list of connections working in the animation business. One of these individuals was Daws Butler, who is most known for providing his voice to characters such as Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Elroy Jetson, and Spike the Bulldog. Cartwright contacted him and left a message on his answering machine, which he delivered in a Cockney accent.

When she phoned him again, Butler picked up and quickly volunteered to be her guide. He then had her mail him a cassette recording of herself reading the script he had sent her along with the hand. Once he had the video in his possession, Butler provided his feedback and emailed her some remarks. They kept working this way for the next year, writing a new screenplay every few weeks. Cartwright praised Butler, saying he was “incredible, always encouraging, and always polite.”
