Sean Combs Biography and Career:

Sean John Combs was born in Harlem, New York City, USA, on November 4, 1969, to Janice Combs, a model and teacher’s assistant, and Melvin Earl Combs, a drug dealer’s accomplice.

His father was assassinated in 1972. He was reared by his mother in Mt. Vernon, New York, following the death of his father.
He graduated from ‘Mount Saint Michael Academy,’ a Roman Catholic all-boys high school, in 1987. He played football regularly in high school and even won a division title.

In 1989, he left ‘Howard University,’ where he was pursuing a business degree, and began working as an intern at New York’s ‘Uptown Records.’ He was eventually terminated from that position. In 1995, he started Daddy’s House Social Programs, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering adolescents through tutoring, annual summer camps, and other activities. He founded the clothing company ‘Sean John.’ He has also introduced his own men’s fragrance line, dubbed ‘I Am King.’ Additionally, he owns eateries.

He is a father of five. He is also the stepfather of Quincy, his ex-girlfriend Kimberly Porter’s kid.Justin, his eldest son, was born out of his high school relationship with designer Misa Hylton-Brim.His connection with Kim Porter resulted in the birth of his son Christian and twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie. In 2007, his relationship with Porter came to an end.

He assumed legal custody for Chance, who was born as a result of his connection with Sarah Chapman, the following year. Sean Combs, full name Sean John Combs, aliases Sean “Puffy” Combs, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, and Diddy (born November 4, 1970 in New York, New York, United States), is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and fashion designer who built an entertainment empire in the 1990s.

Combs was born and raised in New York City’s Harlem neighbourhood, where his father was assassinated when Combs was three years old. Combs attended prep school in suburban Mount Vernon, New York, where he allegedly earned the moniker “Puffy” for his habit of puffing up his chest during football practise.

He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., but dropped out after two years to work as an intern at Uptown Records in New York City; he was promoted to vice president within a year. In December 1991, throngs shoved their way into a Combs-promoted charity basketball game at City College of New York, crushing nine people to death and injuring 29.

Combs left Uptown in 1993 and focused his efforts on his own company, Bad Boy Entertainment. He quickly met and befriended Christopher Wallace, a street hustler who rapped as Biggie Smalls and recorded as the Notorious B.I.G. By 1994, Wallace had established himself as a budding rap star, and Combs had arranged a $15 million agreement to relocate Bad Boy to Arista Records, earning him a burgeoning reputation as a rap impresario and entrepreneur throughout the industry.

The Notorious B.I.G. was assassinated in spring 1997, and Combs’s debut album, No Way Out—released that summer as Puff Daddy—included the Grammy-winning track “I’ll Be Missing You,” a musical eulogy including the widow of Wallace and the tune from the Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” Several further singles from No Way Out ruled the 1997 pop charts. Combs toured in support of No Way Out in 1998 and maintained his radio presence; for the film Godzilla, he persuaded guitarist Jimmy Page to create the single “Come with Me,” a thunderous cover of Page’s Led Zeppelin song “Kashmir.” Combs won two Grammy Awards that year for rap album (No Way Out) and rap performance (“I’ll Be Missing You”), and he also started his own apparel line, Sean John.

However, Combs’s legal troubles quickly eclipsed his musical and design accomplishments. In 1999, he was judged partially responsible for the City College stampede and ordered to make payments on a number of subsequent claims. Later that year, following an incident with a record label executive, he pled guilty to second-degree harassment, and in December 1999, he was present during a shooting at a Manhattan nightclub.

He was charged with various offences, including illegal gun possession, but was cleared of all charges in 2001.  He won his third Grammy in 2004 for his collaboration with rapper Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) on “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” and was later named menswear designer of the year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. In 2005, he ditched the “P.” from his name and released his third studio album, Press Play, as Diddy.

His 2010 album Last Train to Paris—which he co-produced with female vocal trio Dirty Money—continued in the crowd-pleasing popular tone established by his prior efforts. It combined rap with house and disco sounds to produce a collection of danceable music loosely themed around a failed love affair. Combs proceeded to explore with another collaboration album, 11 11 (2014), created by Israeli techno producer Guy Gerber, then returned to more traditional hip-hop with the mixtape MMM (2015). The mixtape, titled Puff Daddy and distributed for free online, had a number of collaborations.
