The Italian reggae musician Alberto D’Ascola, best known by his stage name Alborosie, was born on July 4, 1977. He is now better known by his stage name. There are instances when people refer to him as the “Italian Reggae Ambassador.”His musical career started in 1993, when he was 15 years old when he was a member of the Italian reggae band Reggae National Tickets, which was based in Bergamo city. He was known as Stena throughout his time with both bands.

In the year 2001, Alborosie decided to pursue a career as a solo artist. So that he could be closer to the origins of reggae music and the culture of Rastafari, he relocated to Jamaica. There, he began his career as a sound engineer and producer in the industry. Artists such as Gentleman and Ky-Mani Marley are among those with whom he has collaborated. He released his first solo album under the name Soul Pirate. The second album that he had published was titled Escape from Babylon, and it was released during the summer of 2009.

At the Uppsala Reggae Festival, which took place in August of 2008, Alborosie performed. The name “Alborosie” originates from a name that was named after him in the early years of his life when he moved to Jamaica. When I was younger, people used to refer to me as Borosie. Allow me to phrase it in this manner. When I first arrived in Jamaica, my experience was not pleasant. The term Borosie, which has a bad connotation, was one of the names that they used to call me..

He responded by stating “I’m gonna use this name and mash up the place, turn a negative into a positive thing!”. Since my name is Albert, I append the letter ‘Al’ to it, making it Al-Boosie. On the other hand, I won’t explain what borosie means to you. On his record label, Forward Recordings, Alborosie published his first album, Soul Pirate, in 2006. The album included big songs such as “Rastafari Anthem,” “Kingston Town,” and “Call Up Jah.” Overall, the album was a financial success.

Greensleeves Records was the label that published his second album, titled Escape From Babylon, in the year 2009. Throughout his career, he has performed in a variety of locations around the globe, including the majority of Europe and Jamaica. Greensleeves Records was also responsible for the publishing of a compilation album by him in the year 2010, titled Escape from Babylon to the Kingdom of Zion.

Alborosie became the first white artist to win the M.O.B.O. (Music of Black Origin) Awards in the category of Best Reggae Act in 2011. With the release of his debut album of dub music, Dub Clash, in 2010, and his third album, 2 Times Revolution, he achieved this distinction. Through Greensleeves Records, Alborosie published his fourth studio album, titled Sound The System, in the year 2013.

Dub the System, a dub music version that he released in 2013 on Greensleeves Records, was the next step in his musical career. The year 2014 saw the release of Specialist Presents Alborosie & Friends, a compilation album for Greensleeves Records that included collaborations with several prominent reggae musicians. The album debuted at position number seven on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums list.

King Jammy and Alborosie worked together on the production of another dub album called Reality of Dub, which was published at the beginning of January 2015. His iconic first album Soul Pirate, which was published by Evolution Music Group, was remastered and reissued in Deluxe Remastered Edition in 2015. This edition included four extra songs that had never been released before: “Call Up Jah,” “Slambam,” “Streets,” and “Jamaica.” They were all previously unreleased from the album.

In The Culture was the title of Alborosie’s eighth studio album, which was issued on June 4, 2021. The album contains fourteen songs that were written, recorded, and performed during the COVID-19 epidemic. These tracks were created using vintage analog gear, dub sirens, reel-to-reel tape, and live instrumentation by Alborosie and the Roots Radics band.

Collie Buddz, Jo Mersa Marley, Quino of Big Mountain, and The Wailing Souls were among the special guest artists that Alborosie worked with. Alborosie was also responsible for producing the most recent album by the pair, titled Back-A-Yard.A nomination for the “2021 Album of the Year” award was submitted by Surf Roots TV & Radio in December 2021 for the album “For The Culture” by Alborosie. The award was based on the votes of the fans.

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter users were the ones who decided who would vote. Through the reggae rock streaming TV channel that is available on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV, the band received their first nomination for the first time. In the past, his mother worked as a homemaker, while his father retired from the police force.
