Bruce Davison Biography and Career:

Bruce Davison is a well-known American actor and filmmaker most recognized for his roles as Willard and Ben in the films Willard and Ben. He is particularly famous for his role as the villain Senator Robert Kelly in the X-Men film trilogy, for which he won a Golden Globe Award, and for his performance in the film “Longtime Companion,” for which he also won the award: a musician and an architect for a father and an administrative professional for a mother.

After Davison’s mother went through a difficult divorce from his father when he was just three years old, she took primary responsibility for his upbringing. After completing his high school education, he graduated from the acting department at New York University in 1969. That same year, he also debuted in the film industry with a role in “Last Summer.” Since then, Davison has acted in various mediums, including movies, television series, and stage performances.

After waiting another year, he debuted in the film industry as Dan in the movie “Last Summer.”He co-starred with Kim Darby in ‘The Strawberry Statement’ (1970), a film about student demonstrations and the violent aftermath of those demonstrations. The actor was chosen to play the title character in the horror movie directed by Daniel Mann and released in 1971. The film, adapted from Stephen Gilbert’s novel ‘Ratman’s Notebooks,’ was nominated for an Edgar Award in the best picture category.

In the early to middle of the 1970s, Davison appeared in the films “Ulzana’s Raid,” “Peege,” “Mother, Jugs & Speed,” and “Mame.”In 1978, he performed the lead role of Dean Torrence in the television biography ‘Deadman’s Curve.’ Also, he had a significant part in the television film version of the book ‘Summer of My German Soldier.’ Both of these roles were for television. In the comedy Hunter, which aired from 1985 to 1989, he portrayed the role of Deputy Chief Wyler, and he also appeared in the film Spies Like Us. After that, Davison was seen in the movie “Short Cuts” and “Six Degrees of Separation,” both comedies with dramatic elements.

In the movie titled “The Cure,” released in 1995, he portrayed the role of a young man who had AIDS and was looking for medical aid. One year later, he made an appearance in a film called “It’s My Party,” which was based on the same concept and told the story of a man who is terminally ill with AIDS and throws a party for his loved ones as he prepares to end his own life.

The actor appeared as a special guest star in an episode of ‘Touched by an Angel.’ His performance as Jacob ‘Jake’ Weiss garnered him a nomination for an Emmy Award. Between 2000 and 2001, he appeared in the comedy ‘The Practice’ in the character of Scott Wallace, which he had originated. Davison also had a role in the movie ‘X-Men’ during this period, playing the part of Senator Robert Kelly.

Following his performance as Senator Robert Kelly in the X-Men sequel “X2: X-Men United,” released in 2003, the actor played Dr. Stegman in the miniseries “Kingdom Hospital.” Shortly after, he became a cast member in the crime drama ‘Close to Home,’ playing Attorney Doug Hellman. Davison went on to have parts in the dramas “Knight Rider,” “Ghost Whisperer,” and “General Hospital” during the subsequent years.

In the years 2012 and 2013, he starred in the movies “The Lords of Salem,” “Saving Lincoln,” and “Words and Pictures,” and he also had an appearance in the military drama series “Last Resort” on ABC. The actor plays the role of Ron Prince in the drama series ‘Kingdom’ from 2014 until 2016. During this period, he also appeared in the film ‘Get A Job,’ playing the role of Lawrence Wilheimer. In the film “Longtime Companion,” released in 1989, Bruce Davison was selected to play the role of David.
