Charles Manson Biography and Career:

Kathleen Maddox, who was 16 years old and had never been married when she gave birth to Charles Manson in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, In the beginning, they referred to him as “no name Maddox.” Charles Milles Maddox was given this name by his mother after she had already given birth to him and had married his father’s father, William Manson, a laborer. His mother accused his biological father, Colonel Walker Scott, of bastardy and started a lawsuit against him.

When his mother was arrested for robbery in 1939, he was sent to live with his aunt in McMechen, West Virginia, since the authorities had taken her into custody. During the time that Kathleen was on parole in 1942, she went and collected Charles, and the two of them used to live together in seedy motel rooms. After some time, the court sent him to the Gibault School for Boys in Terre Haute, Indiana. After ten months there, he was able to break out and return home to his mother. However, his mother did not want to accept care for him.

He got his start in the criminal world by breaking into a grocery shop and stealing some merchandise there.  After that, he was engaged in other instances of breaking and entering. After his arrest by the authorities, he was sent to a detention facility for juveniles in Indianapolis. After that, he was placed in the ‘National Training School for Boys’ in Washington, D.C., where he remained for a period of four years. Because of his antisocial behavior, he was sent to the ‘Federal Reformatory’ in Virginia in October 1951, after having been transferred to the ‘Natural Bridge Honor Camp’ in October 1951, on the advice of a doctor.

In September of 1952, he was sent to the “Federal Reformatory” in Chillicothe, Ohio, because of the disobedient manner in which he had conducted himself. There, he became a model inmate by displaying excellent conduct and increasing his academic performance, which ultimately led to his release from prison in May of 1954. When he arrived in Los Angeles the next year driving a vehicle that he had previously stolen in Ohio, he was immediately confronted with federal criminal accusations and sentenced to five years of probation.

In March of 1956, he was taken into custody in Indianapolis by the police for failing to appear in court in Los Angeles in connection with a federal felony that had been filed in Florida. In September of 1959, he was arrested and charged with attempting to cash a fake check drawn on the United States Treasury. However, the judge agreed to postpone his sentence for ten years when Leona, a lady who claimed to be in love with him, argued for his release in court. However, he was taken into custody by the police for breaching the “Mann Act” when he was traveling from California to New Mexico with Leona and another lady.

A bench warrant was issued for his arrest because he failed to appear in court after being released.
The local law enforcement apprehended him in Laredo, Texas. Following his return to Los Angeles, he was found guilty of attempting to cash the fraudulent check and was sentenced to ten years in jail as a result of his actions. In 1961, he was sent from the “Los Angeles County Jail” to the “United States Penitentiary” on McNeil Island. This transfer took place in California. Begging became his primary source of income when he was released from prison on March 21, 1967, and he went to Berkeley, California, shortly afterwards.

While he was residing in California, he became romantically involved with Mary Brunner, who worked as a library assistant at the “University of California,” and they eventually moved in together. By establishing himself in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco as a ‘guru,’ he was able to create a group of followers to whom he would teach the doctrines of the Scientology religion.

On the company of some of his devotees, he visited a number of locations around the United States in an old school bus. After some time, the gathering relocated to the home of the musician Dennis Wilson.
After being released from jail, Charles Manson quickly started to amass a following comprised mostly of young ladies from all around the state of California. They became known as the “Manson Family” in the years that followed. During the late 1960s, the state of California was home to a desert commune and cult known as “The Manson Family.”

He was embroiled in a protracted court battle for many years as a result of the participation of the Manson Family in a number of homicide investigations. In August of 1969, he was responsible for the murder of actress Sharon Tate, as well as four of Tate’s friends, Leno LaBianca, and Rosemary LaBianca.

This event brought him to the attention of the whole country. Following Charles Manson’s instructions to the letter, Tex Watson and three other members of the so-called “Manson Family” were responsible for the killings of Tate and LaBianca. The year 1970 saw the publication of Manson’s first studio album, which was given the title Lie: The Love and Terror Cult. The single ‘Cease to Exist,’ which was featured on the album, was the source of inspiration for the song ‘Never Learn Not to Love,’ which was released by the Beach Boys in 1968.
