Ella Henderson Biography and Career:

After making it to the last six contestants on the ninth season of the British reality TV music competition “The X Factor,” Ella Henderson became a household name throughout the nation. She was predicted to take first place in the singing competition, but she ended up in sixth place. Nonetheless, Simon Cowell of “Syco Music” thought Ella was skilled enough to sign her to a record contract.

She was born and raised in Lincolnshire, where she showed an early propensity for music by teaching herself to play the piano at the age of 10. Her original composition “Missed” got her a seat on “The X Factor,” where she performed for judges and fans. She made it to further rounds of the competition and was widely considered a frontrunner to win, but eventual victor James Arthur surprised everyone by upsetting the odds.

Despite what many saw as an unfair elimination from “The X Factor,” she went on to sign lucrative recording contracts after the program. Her first record song, “Ghost,” peaked at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. Singles, songs, and albums she released went on to become chartbusters, strengthening her hold on the music business in the UK and throughout the globe.

As of the 12th of January 1996, Ella Henderson has been a resident of Tetney, a hamlet in the East Lindsey region of Lincolnshire. Her father Sean Henderson, a Scotsman, made a fortune as a real estate developer in Dubai after starting out as a car salesman. Her mom, Swedish ancestry may be traced back many generations in Michelle Henderson’s family tree. Fraser and Patrick are Ella’s brothers, while Holly is their younger sister.

She began singing at the young age of three and showed early signs of great talent as a musician. Before she was 10, she had also taught herself to play the piano to a high level of proficiency. During the winter months, Ella became used to throwing parties for her loved ones. She got along well with her grandpa, Bill, and had a strong emotional connection with him. The encouragement and support that Ella received from Bill were important in her development as a singer and songwriter.

St. Martin’s Preparatory School in Grimsby, where she studied throughout her elementary years, gave her a strong boost toward pursuing her interest in the performing arts. After finishing elementary school in 2007, she tried out for a scholarship at the Hertfordshire-based “Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.” She attended the prestigious “Tring Park School for the Performing Arts” as a boarder on a full scholarship until she turned sixteen.

In 2012, Ella Henderson sang Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is you” on Channel 4’s Come Dance with Me, a celebrity Christmas event. As her GCSE exams loomed, she decided to give the ninth season of “The X Factor” a go. She showed up for her audition on season nine of “The X Factor,” and one of the judges, Tulisa, helped her through the process. She sang a song she wrote in honor of her late grandpa called “Missed” in front of a live audience.

A short while later, she included the track on her first album. James Arthur, who eventually made it to the final stages, and Ella both had mediocre showings early on and were eliminated in the seventh week. Nonetheless, with the support of the judges, both of the promising young singers advanced to the semi-finals.

On the championship stage, James and Ella were both on the cusp of advancing to the eighth and final round. James, who earned 13.7 percent of the vote, advanced, but Ella, who received 12.1 percent of the vote, did not. Only Ella, out of all the women, made it to the final round before being eliminated.

For many, Ella Henderson’s elimination was a major upset. While the program was airing and after Ella was eliminated, she received support from a number of notable personalities, including Cher, Nick Grimshaw, Lily Allen, Sarah Millican, and Simon Cowell.

O’Leary, a judge on “The Xtra Factor,” said that after listening to all of the contestants, she was the most talented one he had heard. As a consolation prize after being booted from “The X Factor,” Ella sang “Silent Night” on “The Saturday Night Show” in December 2012. While being interviewed outside of the 2012 ‘Saturday Night Live,’ she revealed that she had signed a studio album deal with Sony Music Entertainment.

Her partnership with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music was announced in January 2013. In 2013, Ella performed on The X Factor concert tour, where she sang out tuneful tunes including “You Got the Love,” “Missed,” “Rule the World,” and “Believe.” In January of that year, she sang it again at the 18th annual National Television Awards.

Ella performed various mashups and original songs in concert and on television in 2013 and then released them on YouTube. Ghost quickly became the most popular song in the United Kingdom following its release. A collaboration between Ella and Camille Purcell, “Glow” was released as her second single on October 5, 2014. Her studio album, Chapter One, was released 9 days after she recorded it.

In November 2014 and March 2015, Ella dropped singles titled “Yours” and “Mirror Man,” respectively. Both were written in collaboration with Josh Record and Al Shux. She embarked on her debut nationwide tour in October 2015, and she shared the bill with British pop group Take That.

In the latter half of 2016, she announced on her Instagram that she had finished writing and recording her newest album in the studio. Her second album was written, recorded, and produced by Max Martin, a producer, and Danny O’Donoghue, of ‘The Script.’

In 2017, Ella Henderson announced that during James Arthur’s “Back from the Edge” stadium tour, she would serve as a warm-up act. Arthur was the winner of the ninth season of “The X Factor.” A cover of “Bridge over Troubled Water” by Simon & Garfunkel was one of her performances on The X Factor in June 2017.

This rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water was recorded as a benefit for the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in London in June 2017. When it was first released, the single immediately climbed to the top of the UK Singles Chart.

After James Arthur made it to the final round of X Factor, Ella revealed in the latter half of 2017 that the two had recorded a duet. The duet will appear on her upcoming second album. During Arthur’s concert tour, she debuted a number of songs that would eventually appear on her future album.
