After an assault on Gilead’s embassy and Serena’s improvised house in Canada, Angelson’s character debuted in episode four of the fifth season as Serena’s new hostess. Angelson’s character was introduced in this episode. But as time has gone on, admirers have spotted clues that the new living arrangement may not merely be for her protection: they include the following: When Alanis first meets Serena in episode four, she is awestruck by her stomach, and the Wheelers have complete control over what Serena consumes in terms of both food and drink.

When her houseguest, Serena, said that she might not want to remarry anytime shortly, the Canadian who sympathizes with Gilead lashed out at her. Serena had stated that she might want to avoid remarrying anytime shortly. The young idealist, who had earlier positioned the expectant Mrs. Waterford on a lofty pedestal, saw this as an abomination and considered it abominable.

As Alanis’ fury grew, she ultimately told Serena to go to her room, confirming what Serena must have suspected for some time: that she is, in essence, the Wheelers’ handmaid. Alanis Wheeler is now played by Genevieve Angelson, who just joined the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale. After the Gilead information center in Canada is closed, Alanis and her husband Ryan invite Serena Joy to stay with them at their house.

Serena Joy, Genevieve Angelson plays, shares her home with Alanis Wheeler in the fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Alanis welcomed Serena into her house when the Gilead information center closed.
