Jeri Ryan Biography and Career:

Jeri Lynn Ryan (née Zimmermann; born February 22, 1968) is an American actress best known as the former Borg drone Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager (1997–2001). She was nominated for a Saturn Award four times for her role and ultimately won the award in 2001. She returned to Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023) as Seven of Nine for those two seasons.

In the television series Boston Public (2001–2004), Ryan also portrayed the role of Veronica “Ronnie” Cooke. The science fiction series Dark Skies (1997) and the courtroom drama series Shark (2006–2008) included her regularly as an actress. In 2009, she had a recurring role as Tara Cole on the television show Leverage. She was a leading cast member on the ABC drama series Body of Proof from 2011 to 2013, playing the role of Dr. Kate Murphy. In 2016, she debuted in the Amazon Prime series Bosch, where she plays the role of Veronica Allen.

Paducah, Kentucky, became the family’s permanent home when she was 11 and her father retired from the Army there. She attended Lone Oak High School and was recognized as a National Merit Scholar. She went on to Northwestern University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1986. She earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre from Northwestern University in 1990 and graduated with honors.

In 1989, Ryan was selected to compete for the title of Miss Illinois. She was a contestant in the Miss America competition in 1990 and came in third place overall. She moved to Los Angeles after graduating from college to pursue a career in acting full-time. After making her debut in the film Who’s the Boss?, she appeared in guest-starring in several television programs, including Melrose Place, Matlock, and The Sentinel, in addition to several television movies.

On the television show Dark Skies, she appeared often as the alien investigator Juliet Stuart. Her part was a recurring one. In 2004, the series came to an end. The romantic comedy film Down with Love[9] and the indie film Men Cry Bullets had Ryan in a starring role as a supporting character. She appeared in the 2005 pilot episode of Commuters, a suburban adaptation of Desperate Housewives. Between January 27 and April 29, 2008, there were no broadcasts of the series. After the second season’s conclusion on May 20, 2008, CBS decided to cease the transmission of the series. The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode that aired on April 7, 2009, included her first appearance after giving birth to her daughter Gisele. She played the character of defense attorney Patrice La Rue in the episode.

After that, Ryan played a con artist named Tara Cole in the second season of the drama Leverage. This part was a fill-in for the series regular Gina Bellman, who played Sophie and was on maternity leave then.
