John Rhys-Davies Biography and Career:

John Rhys-Davies was born to Phyllis Jones and Rhys Davies on May 5, 1944, in the city of Salisbury in the English county of Wiltshire. His mother was a nurse, and his father worked as a colonial officer and a mechanical engineer. He grew up in both Ammanford, Wales, and Tanganyika, East Africa. Because his father was a colonial police officer, he and his family moved around Tanzania, living in places like Kongwa, Dar es Salaam, Moshi, and Mwanza. In Cornwall, England, he went to Truro School to learn. He got into the University of East Anglia in Norwich, where he had applied.
