Julie Walters Biography and Career:

Dame Julia Mary Walters, DBE, is a well-known English actress and author. She was born on the 22nd of February 1950. She is the recipient of the BAFTA Fellowship, in addition to her two BAFTA Film Awards and four BAFTA TV Awards, which she earned. In 1983, Walters initially gained recognition on a global scale for her performance as the titular character in the film Educating Rita. She had originated the part on the West End stage, and it was for this performance that she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. In addition, it garnered her a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award.

She was nominated for a second Academy Award, this time in the category of Best Supporting Actress, for her performance in the film Billy Elliot, which also earned her a British Academy Film Award (BAFTA).
