Additionally, Keoghan is the host of the American reality competition program Tough as Nails, which made its premiere on CBS on July 8, 2020. Keoghan was a co-creator of the show.

As of the year 2021, he has been involved in winning these awards. At the age of 19, Keoghan successfully auditioned for the New Zealand children’s program Spot On as he was going through the process of finishing an apprenticeship as a television cameraman.

After a string of other presenting jobs on New Zealand television, including a stint as a reporter on That’s Fairly Interesting, he and his wife Louise moved to the United States after his program Keoghan’s Heroes was picked up by a network in the United States. He was 23 years old at the time. Initially, Keoghan tried out for the role of the host of the show Survivor. Even though he was on the shortlist, the CBS network finally decided to go with Jeff Probst for the role of Survivor, and they allowed Keoghan to host The Amazing Race.

Keoghan has been the presenter of the show ever since it first on the air, and he also works as a producer for the program. In addition to developing additional series for CBS, he is now [when?] under a deal that will enable him to continue working for the network for “several years” after the conclusion of The Amazing Race 18 in 2011. In a 2002 interview, Keoghan acknowledged that the amount of money he receives for a single episode of The Amazing Race is more than the amount he receives for a full year on Spot On.

Shortly after the earthquake that struck Christchurch in February 2011, Keoghan traveled back to his hometown to assure his family that they were safe. He also went there to record segments for The Early Show, in which he pleaded with viewers to donate to the New Zealand Red Cross and to encourage continued tourism to the country, which is an essential component of New Zealand’s economy.

During the same period, he was a part of the process of filming the new safety video that Air New Zealand’s domestic aircraft fleet would be using. The number of various program episodes that Keoghan has hosted exceeds one thousand. A new reality series about the Velux 5 Oceans Race was going to be hosted and produced by Keoghan, according to an announcement that was made in June the year 2010. In 2010, Keoghan disclosed to TMZ that he had been held in custody in Ukraine for two days during the tenth season of The Amazing Race. However, the United States ambassador in Ukraine decided to intercede and release him.

Beginning with the eleventh season of National Geographic Explorer, which will officially begin airing in 2018, Keoghan served as the show’s host. According to Keoghan, he had shown interest in producing for Explorer, and he and his future wife had even participated in the development of the program by filming and submitting a pitch video to the production team at that time. When Keoghan was 19 years old and working on the film Spot On, he embarked on a dive to the wreckage of the MS Mikhail Lermontov, which was located at a depth of 120 feet (37 meters) below.

During the shooting process, he was separated from his companion in the ballroom of the ship, and he had a panic attack. He considered this to be a near-death experience. After being rescued by his diving companion, he persisted in confronting his anxiety and came back the next day to finish recording, even though he was freaked up. From that point on, Keoghan made it his mission to experience life to the fullest by achieving extraordinary objectives and taking calculated risks.

Keoghan enjoys bike riding very much. To generate funds for research into multiple sclerosis, Keoghan participated in the “Ride Across America” event, which took place from the 28th of March to the 9th of May in 2009. Several organizations, including GNC, were involved in the event. From Los Angeles to New York City, Keoghan and a group of other cyclists traveled 3,500 miles (5,600 kilometers) on bicycles, averaging 100 miles (160 kilometers) each day.

During his journey, Keoghan visited 39 locations, where he participated in a variety of events and participated in casting for the next season of The Amazing Race. The journey finished one day before the season 14 finale event. The event was successful in raising $500,000, with over $400,000 coming from contributions made in-store during the ride. The premiere of his documentary film The Ride, which is about his journey across the United States, took place on February 3, 2011.

Later on, Keoghan came across material on Harry Watson, a New Zealand cyclist who was active in the early 20th century and established a team of four to become the first English-speaking team to compete in the Tour de France in 1928. Keoghan, to honor Watson’s legacy, made preparations to cycle the equivalent of the Tour de France route from 1928, which consisted of 22 legs and covered over 5,400 kilometers (3,400 miles) in length, in contrast to the present Tour, which covers 3,500 kilometers.
