Sam Seder Biography and Career:

Samuel Lincoln Seder is a well-known American actor, political pundit with a left-leaning political leaning, and popular media host. He was born on November 28, 1966. The film Who’s the Caboose? (1997), as well as the television programs Beat Cops (2001) and Pilot Season (2004), are all examples of his notable works. In addition, he was a guest star on the television shows Spin City (1997), Sex and the City (2000), America Undercover (2005), and Maron (2015). He also had a cameo in Next Stop Wonderland (1998).

Since the year 2010, he has been the host of a daily political discussion program with Sam Seder called The Majority Report. Hugo, a recurrent character in the animated comedy series Bob’s Burgers, is another character that he provides his voice. Seder joined Janeane Garofalo as a co-host of The Majority Report on Air America Radio in March of 2004, and he remained in that role until their departure in July of 2006.

Mark Green’s effort to restructure Air America into a lucrative leader in progressive talk radio, which he referred to as “Air America 2.0,” resulted in the cancellation of The Sam Seder program on April 13, 2007. Lionel, a late-night radio program presenter for WOR Radio Network, took up the reigns of the show. Seder was confined to a program named Seder on Sunday, which was shown on Sundays.

In a short amount of time, Lionel lost two-thirds of Seder’s live affiliates as well as his subscribers. On June 1, 2008, media outlets aired the last Seder that took place on Sunday. Additionally, Seder sometimes filled in for Randi Rhodes on Air America and Mike Malloy on The Mike Malloy Show, which is broadcast on the Nova M Radio network. Seder also sometimes filled in for Randi Rhodes. Maron v. Seder, a video webcast that lasted for one hour, was another project that he started working on with Marc Maron in the year 2008.

Breakroom Live with Maron & Seder was rebranded as Breakroom Live with Maron & Seder in January 2009, and it was broadcast live from the kitchen of the Air America headquarters throughout the weekdays. In addition, Seder and Maron had a post-show talk with fans after the conclusion of each episode. It was in July of 2009 that Air America Media decided to discontinue Breakroom Live with Maron & Seder. The year 2010 saw the departure of Air America.

In November 2009, Seder served as the presenter of a pilot episode of an American adaptation of the show Have I Got News for You. It was reported in November 2012 that Seder would once again be the host of an American version of the program, this time on TBS. This announcement came three years after the first announcement. Seder launched an independent web podcast in November of 2010, which he first referred to as The Seder Channel. Subsequently, he changed the name of the show to The Majority Report with Sam Seder.

The live talk-show style is quite similar to the structure of the old Air America program, which included politically-oriented comments from Seder and the co-hosts, as well as interviews with a variety of guests. By using the crowdsourcing site Patreon, Seder provides those who listen to the broadcast with varying degrees of access to material related to the show.

When Keith Olbermann was away on vacation, Seder started filling in as a replacement host for Countdown with Keith Olbermann on an intermittent basis in the latter half of 2010. Additionally, in December 2010, Seder became a co-host of the progressive radio interview show Ring of Fire, which is an internationally syndicated program. The program is also co-hosted by Farron Cousins and Mike Papantonio, an attorney located in Florida.

Since its relaunch in 2010, The Majority Report has been affiliated with the YouTube Network, with which it has collaborated. This association lasted until 2020, during which time the program has mainly adhered to its original structure, although it has been reinvented as a viewer-funded production. As a result of these institutional affiliation and funding-production adjustments, the program was able to win a series of worldwide People’s Choice Podcast Awards, namely the “News and Politics” prize in five of the subsequent seven annual contests (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017).

The United States Secret Service detained Seder for a short period on September 1, 2004, when he was providing live, on-site coverage of the Republican National Convention that was held at Madison Square Garden that year. Seder started looking for a willing gay Republican to interview live on the radio shortly after Zell Miller finished his address. He was carrying a placard with him as he explored the convention floor in search of someone to question.

Shortly after that, he was forcefully taken from the floor, and after a short interrogation, he was ordered to leave the conference without more explanation. Later on, Seder made a statement about how the fact that he had been wearing a lapel button that had been presented to him by a Secret Service agent at the Democratic National Convention earlier that year had prevented him from being entirely expelled from the convention.
