Tim Robinson Biography and Career:

Tim Robinson is a notable American comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He was born on May 23, 1981 in the United States. It was during his time as a writer and actor on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2014 that he first gained widespread attention. Subsequently, he went on to become a co-creator, co-writer, and star of the comedy shows Detroiters (2017–2018) and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019–present).

Following his time with the touring company of Second City Detroit, Robinson went on to become a member of Second City Chicago. Additionally, he has given performances at the Just for Laughs and the iO Theater. My Mans was the name of the television pilot that he recorded for Comedy Central in 2011, but the network ultimately decided not to commit to producing the program. In 2012, he was selected to play a series regular role in the CBS comedy Friend Me, which was never broadcast.

On Saturday Night Live, he had his first appearance as a featured artist; this took place in September 2012. A year later, it was announced that he would be working on the writing staff rather than continuing to be a performer. This made him the second cast member of Saturday Night Live (after Brian Doyle-Murray) to go from being a performer to being a staff writer. Additionally, he was the first SNL performer to become a writer after being cast solely as a performer.

In addition to portraying the recurrent character Carl, an old store clerk who was often ridiculed by Niff (Bobby Moynihan) and Dana (Cecily Strong), he also performed famous impressions on the program, including those of Ben Bailey and Bill Cowher. On the late-night talk program Late Night with Seth Meyers, which airs on NBC, Robinson has made two appearances as Dale, a character who serves as the “emergency sidekick” of the host, Seth Meyers.

It was during the skit “Next Week’s News” on February 28, 2014, that he made his first appearance, and it was during the sketch “Celebrity Drunk Texts” on April 8, 2014, that he made his second appearance. During the year 2016, he contributed to the sketch comedy program Netflix Presents: The Characters by writing and appearing in his episode of the show. In addition, he is a co-creator and co-star of the television show Detroiters, which he created with Sam Richardson, another native of Detroit and a regular collaborator.

It was in February of 2017 that the program made its debut on Comedy Central. In April 2017, he appeared as Al Capone on the Fox program Making History. I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson is a sketch comedy series that was conceived by Robinson and starred by Robinson. It was produced by members of The Lonely Island. In 2018, streaming service Netflix gave the project the go-light. Both the first season, which debuted in April 2019, and the second season, which debuted in July 2021, got positive reviews from critics.

There was a renewal of the series for a third season in May of 2022, and the debut of the third season took place on May 30th, 2023. I Think You Should Leave was the show that Robinson received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series in 2022. Robinson’s performance in the show earned him the award. When Robinson was a teenager, he started a relationship with Heather, a classmate of his who became an electrical engineer for Chrysler.

It was in September of 2006 that they tied the knot. Together with their daughter and son, they make their home in Los Angeles. While he was still in high school, Robinson developed a passion for skateboarding, and he continues to skateboard whenever he has free time. Claustrophobia is a condition that he suffers from, and he is a vegetarian. The statement that he has made is that he believes in the presence of ghosts, but not ghosts. For him, the film Strangers on a Train (1951) by Alfred Hitchcock is his all-time favorite.

The Detroit Lions and the Detroit Pistons are two of his favorite teams to cheer for. His concerts sometimes include cameo appearances by professional wrestlers such as Brody King, Kevin Nash, Ryan Nemeth, Erick Rowan, and Aron Stevens. He has been a fan of professional wrestling for his whole life, and he loves it so much that he has included it in his programs. It is a tendency that every comedy fan on the internet has come across at some time a well-liked stand-up comedian who spent the whole 1990s raging against the system in passionate rants that were driven by enough rails to take down.

In a sudden and unexpected turn of events, Tony Montana begins tweeting about Bidenomics and leveling attacks on Donald Trump’s skin tone that are on par with elementary school students on Colbert. Alternatively, the podcast of a great “guy’s guy” comedian explodes, and he strangely becomes more irrationally angry and more self-victimizing, devoting full episodes to his detractors among the “woke mob.” This occurs as his base of support becomes more conservative, and the salaries he receives from Patreon cause him to move up into the next tax band.
