Pierre Morad Omidyar is a tech entrepreneur, software engineer, and philanthropist who was born in France. On June 21, 1967, he was born as Parviz Morad Omidyar. In 1997, a public relations manager made up a story that Omidyar’s then-girlfriend asked him to help her sell Pez candy dispensers. This was done to get the media’s attention.
