Dorothy Lyman Biography and Career:
Dorothy Lyman is an American actress, director, and producer in the television industry. She is most recognized for her roles as Gwen Frame on Another World, Opal Sue Gardner on All My Children, Rebecca Whitmore on Generations, and Naomi Harper on the comedy Mama’s Family. Her work in these roles has brought her the majority of her fame.
Violet E. (nee Brightwell) and Hector H. Lyman, who worked in the financial industry, were Lyman’s parents. Lyman was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She identifies as a Protestant. Jill Larson, who took up her role as Opal on All My Children, went to the same high school throughout their high school years. In 1971, she appeared on the soap opera A World Apart, playing the role of flower kid Julie Stark.
