American rapper Kendrick Lamar, whose full name is Kendrick Lamar Duckworth and who was born on June 17, 1987, in Compton, California, United States, is known for his critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, including “good kid, m.A.A.d city” (2012) and “To Pimp a Butterfly,” among others (2015).

Duckworth’s parents moved away from a violent environment in Chicago and settled in a high-crime neighborhood in Compton, where the young Duckworth spent his childhood. When he was still a young adolescent, he started creating rhymes, and in 2003, he published his debut mixtape under the moniker K. Dot. The title of the mixtape was Youngest Head Nigga in Charge.
