Yosozumi began her skateboarding journey in 2013, and her elder brother was a significant factor in her decision to participate in the sport.

On weekdays, she reportedly worked out for five hours after attending school, according to an article that was published in September 2017. She participated in the women’s park event at the 2016 World Cup Skateboarding, which was held in Tokyo. She finished 29th among all of the participants in the event. Instead of competing in the bowling competition, she participated in the 2018 version that was held in Orange, California, and she ended up placing sixth in that competition.

Yosozumi competed in the Vans Park Series (VPS) Asian Championships in Singapore in 2017, where she ended up finishing in third place.2 [2] In the women’s category of the VPS Pro Tour, which took place in Brazil in June 2018, Yosozumi triumphed over Yndiara Asp of Brazil and Brighton Zeuner of the United States to take the top position. She finished in second place in the qualifying round in the Huntington Beach, California leg of the competition; however, she was unable to make it to the podium in the final and completed the competition in fifth place overall.

Yosuzumi participated in the women’s park event at the 2018 X Games World Championships in Minneapolis. During the qualifying round, she ended in second place, and in the final, she earned a bronze medal, coming in third place behind the winner of the gold medal, Brighton Zeuner, and the Australian Sabre Norris. Her participation at the 2018 Asian Games, which were held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, was as a representative of Japan. Yosozumi won one of the three gold medals that Japan won in the skateboard competition as she finished first in the standings of the women’s park event.

Her performance came before that of Kaya Isa, a fellow countrywoman who won a silver medal, and Zhang Xin, a Chinese native who won a bronze medal. Yosozumi participated in the very first Olympic women’s park skateboarding event, which took place at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the year 2020. She achieved the highest possible score of 60.09 during the competition, which earned her the gold medal. She barely prevailed over her fellow countryman Kokona Hiraki, who finished in second place with a score of 59.04, and Sky Brown, who competed for Team GB and finished in third place with a score of 56.47.

They will be joined by the four riders who were seeded for the event, who are the Olympic silver medalists Hiraki Cocona, Kusaki Hinano, Raicca Ventura of Brazil, and Minna Stess of Team USA. The best 28 riders from a deep field of 63 riders who participated in open qualifications will now advance to the quarter-finals. Sky Brown, who now holds the third slot in the Olympic World Skate Rankings, has decided to forego the event in Dubai to improve his chances of earning a berth in the surf quota for the 2024 ISA World Surfing Games in Puerto Rico.

At the age of only 19 years, she won the inaugural competition in her nation during the 2021 Tokyo Summer Games, making her the first person in the history of the sport to ever win a gold medal at the Olympic Games using skateboarding. On the other hand, the reigning Olympic champion in the women’s park skateboarding competition is Sakura Yosozumi, a professional skateboarder from Japan. She is aiming for even greater success in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which will take place the following year.

The first snow, surf, and skate attraction in all of Singapore. As part of the attraction’s invitation, Yosozumi gave a brief skate demonstration and also led a clinic for young riders in Singapore who ranged in age from six to sixteen years old. The Red Bull athlete discussed her athletic career, recovering from previous injuries, coping with the stress of contests, and what the opening of Trifecta may imply for skateboarders in Singapore. She also discussed how she has managed the stress of competition.

That score of 90 or above put more pressure on Hiraki’s competitors, who were aware that they needed to make major improvements to have a chance to compete. Following the failure of four competitors to finish their second runs, Arisa Trew achieved a score of 88.48 by doing two enormous 540s, which allowed her to move up to third position. Following that, Laso, who had been leading the semi-finals on Saturday, delivered what would ultimately out to be the winning run.
